I love shopping at this Meijer. The variety of produce is huge and kept fresh. If you get the Sunday paper and cut out coupons, often the Meijer ad sales coincide, offering you more savings. - The first Meijer grocery store was opened in Greeneville, Mich., in 1934 with $338.76 worth of merchandise. After opening several local grocery stores over the next 30 years, the company underwent a transformation in 1962 when it opened its first Meijer Thrifty Acres location, a food and general merchandise store, which many consider the birth of the one-stop shopping center. Be careful trying to shop here with coupons, if you try and save money they will accuse you of scamming their store.
