Inverness Gardens

I'd rate this negative 5 stars if I could. Do not be fooled by the nice quiet location and the nice outside yard work. The insides are all a mess. When first deciding about Inverness gardens, my husband and I understood that the buildings are older and we understood that things would break down. We lived in older facilities before and never had problems because if important things break down then they just fix it because it's their building. So, what we didn't know was that the owner Beth is a rude, condescending, Penny pincher who poorly maintains the place. She is hard to reach and never returns calls, she makes everyone go through Marcie (the lady who is on location, Beth's office is in bowling green). Things broke here and there and it took them forever to fix, I'm not even sure if they actually came for some of the work orders. BUT Our biggest issue was the ac system. The air condition box outside the town house was all beat up and rusted and our ac acted funky, working some times and not at other times. One time, it didn't work for 3 days, leaving our family (us and my three small children) in the uncomfortable heat. We had issued a maintenance report right away but they didn't get it checked until next week(which was when it suddenly decided to work again). So in the end, nothing was fixed AND surprise! We were never told that the guy who came was not even their maintence guy, it was a contractor who essentially fixed NOTHING and Beth sent us a bill for the service. I complained about her poor communication and that the ac/heat is still bad, and the ridiculous bill. Beth and Marcie also failed to provide the contract or anything stating we were responsible for such services (which went against the Ohio state law doctrine, Warranty of habitability, 5321.04). Beth then sent us a letter saying the bill was waived but will be charged the next time. NEXT time? No! By now, we are fed up with the poor maintence of the place and I did not want to deal with the heat dying in the winter. Especially with my small children. SO, we decided to move the next month. When we moved, Beth retaliated and withheld the charge from the air system service in our security deposit. I tried contacting her for two weeks and finally she responded, acting like she never told us that the ac bill was waived and blamed everything on Marcie. She makes everyone go through Marcie so that she can claim things unofficial and that she "never said it". One of the most HORRIBLE OWNER, be warned! Keep all your documents because they are lairs. Do not stay here unless you want broken down things that never gets fixed and surprise bills.
