Overall

I went in today with a friend that was pretty sure her baby was having serious issues. Needless to say... I was absolutely blown away by the level of compassion and care she and her furbaby were shown. She ended up having to put her baby down but I watched as an outsider looking in....and was amazed at how caring and loving they were through the whole process... It wasn't like we are doing our job. They actually cared that this was breaking our hearts. Amazing wonderful people!!

Great Service

I have used 71st on several occasions while working with rescue groups in the area. Their staff members have always been pleasant to me and their vets have always been knowledgeable. They have been very flexible with their appointments which has been a must for my unpredictable military schedule. I would recommend their services to anyone.

Not the best

I took my dogs to this vet because I was new to the area. I had nothing but problems with them. They are very expensive and continued to test my dog for things that weren't necessary but I kept paying for it, and to boot, if you pay for a test to be done, know that you still have to pay for another office visit to get the results. Catch 22... Then, if you decide that you would like to save some money by using 1800 pet meds, they will charge you for a prescription. I boarded my dogs here as well over a weekend and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. They are in small cages and my dogs weren't allowed to be together. Their food which I portioned out for each dog was not all used and their collars were switched when I picked them up. The staff is 50/50, but most of them are grumpy and have no customer service skills. One time they told me that they were able to fit me in for some shots and I waited for three hours. I would have easily have taken another appointment that would have allowed for me to wait with much less time. The waiting area has limited seating so if you make a quick appointment, might want to bring your own chair.

They traumatize your pet!!!!!!

Don't use the 71st Animal Hospital, my niece took her yorkie to the groomer there and they shaved the poor thing. Totally shaved. They even tied her down, poor thing. They are rude and really don't care for the animals as they should. Don't use this place your pet will be traumatize for life!

Ripped off

I had my two cats boarded for christmas to go on leave. They called and told me they wanted to test my cats for tapeworm because they found one in one of the cats stools. If they found one, why do they need to test to see if they have it? Other than they were going to charge me another 40 dollars to do the test for both cats. I looked it up on google and tapeworm is easily identifiable, they should know by just looking. It is also inexpensive to treat with over the counter medicine. I hate when vets try to tack on extra cost for no reason. It was 120 dollars to catch them up on their shots. Way over priced.

Amazing Vets, Fantastic Nurses! ...BUT

I love the Vets, Love the Vet Nurses - but sometimes I can feel as if I am getting mixed feelings from the office staff. There are a couple of very nice women in the office, however sometimes, one or two of them can be 2 different people. I could be misinterpreting their professionalism with blatent coldness, but some days there is positivity in that office, and others there is a heavy cloud of negativity. When I get that feeling from the staff, I feel like a crazy person from their ignoring of my pleasantries. I mean, I get it, we all get stressed and have a crappy day. But in an environment of working with people for well over 17 years (me, personally) I've learned to grin and bear it and not make the customer feel that it's their fault by laughing at their jokes and generally being interested in their musings. And guess what? It makes my crappy mood usually go away!At any rate, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the vets here, and I think my little furry minion does too. The staff from the back of

Our puppy was happy

My husband and I were being reluctant to leave our german sheppard again at the same place as we always do since he would always come home distressed and upset. Therefore, my husband did some research and decided this is where he will be taking our "child"-this is how the lady was calling him when speaking with me on the phone. I called back with some concerns and she professionally and calmly addressed them. It really made me feel comfortable and I knew out puppy was in great hands. The price was affordable and he even get to go on a walk.Upon his arrival home, he was a very happy pooch. Knowing our dog, I know how he acts when he comes home and when he is stressed but it really looks he had a great time.We will definitelly be using this boarding hospital again!

Big Help

We had a horse in transport that was in serious need of a vet. Even though they do not take care of horses they took their time to find me someone that did. Thank you very much

Super place to take your pets.

I take all 3 of my dogs to this Animal Hospital. We had a very difficult case with my older Pomeranian. The doctors spent countless hours and days trying to find a treatment for his seizures. Dr. Wright (owner of the hospital) ever went to a seminar on the weat coast to see if she could find any new medicines to help control my dog's seizures. The seizures finally got so bad that he was in constant seizures and had to be put to sleep. I have no doubt that Dr. Wright and her staff did everything they could for my dog. I would, and do, trust them with any pet that I have or will have in the future.
