Berean Baptist Academy

My family attended this church when we lived in Fayetteville. We love this church and only left because we were stationed elsewhere. We grew tremendously while at Berean. It's easy to get in a rut of going to church because you have to. I never felt that way at Berean--I truly looked forward to going to church and the thing I will miss most about Fayetteville is my family at Berean.



It is clear that many of the reviewers have never attended the church and know nothing of the church or pastor. The pastor is an incredible person. Anyone who has ever met Pastor Sean knows he is an incredibly gracious and kind-hearted pastor, who loves children and who is loved by children, teens and adults in the church.



There is nothing to lose by visiting Berean, just to see what it is all about. Despite what others say, who know nothing of Berean beyond a short and distorted video clip they saw online, the church is filled with loving and accepting people who share the love of God and would gladly give the clothes off of their own back to help someone in need.

I do not recommend this academic organization for those seeking a quality education in a Christian environment. My children attended the school a few years ago. I am still dealing with issues that are a product of my children’s affiliation with that organization. My children and I were so displeased with Berean Academy that I pulled all of them out of the school at the end of their first academic year. Several of the teachers there had absolutely no qualifications to be a teacher, unless you count being a high school graduate and being a member of their church as adequate qualifications to be a teacher. There was no depth to their educational resources. Children were placed in classes because of their last completed grade, not their ability. The school is strict about ridiculous things that in some cases are not even rules; often times it was just something that offended the teacher’s individual sensibilities. The school also attempted to regulate the students’ life outside of the academic environment. These things simply served to turn my children against “the so-called Christian-Academic environment”. The school allowed students to enroll that had been kicked out of other Fayetteville area schools, which is totally counter to providing a safe, Christian learning environment. There was one teenager at the school who claimed to be selling drugs to another student at the school and I had to put them “off limits” to my children. Some of the staff’s inability to separate their academic function at Berean Baptist Academy from their affiliation with Berean Baptist Church created unnecessary Parent-Teacher-Student issues.
