B and O Electric Company was started in 1974 by Clyde Ognio and Marion Bennett. The company at this time did churches and school additions. In the late seventy’s Marion Bennett got the opportunity to go to work for General Motors so he ended his relationship with the company. March 22, 1984 B and O Electric Company, incorporated under the laws of the state of Georgia as B and O Electric Company Inc. As we grew we decided that we were more interested in the industrial work than the work we had been doing. We had the people and the knowledge so we pursued this and soon found ourselves doing controls for food plants. The control work that we have done includes dry material storage and conveying, dough thickness, packaging and conveyor controls just to mention a few. These systems were accomplished by using such equipment as programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives and softstarts.
We concentrate on doing industrial & commercial electrical work. We train our employees how to work in these environments. Some don’t understand that there is a big difference in electrical work in residential and industrial and commercial. There is a good bit of a difference between industrial and commercial. We have concentrated mainly on the industrial food industry. This has allowed us to acquire the special tools necessary to meet those needs. Clean corrosion resistant electrical installations. This includes things like PVC coated conduits or Stainless steel conduit and fittings. We work hard in installing the electrical in such a way as to prevent issues with dust collection.
