Hill Place can be loud and noisy at times. And the pools can get a little crazy. But, it's a place for COLLEGE STUDENTS. If you're expecting a nice quiet complex, don't live somewhere that's designed for COLLEGE STUDENTS. As far as stepping over drunk people, in my opinion, Hill Place is an apartment complex...they're only supposed to provide people with a place to live, not be everyone's mommy and make sure they don't drink more than they can handle. Seems like if people are passed out drunk in the hallways, that's more their problem than hill place's. Also, maybe these people should get better friends that won't let them just lay outside passed out! I have lived at Hill ever since it opened and I've been happy here. If I hadn't graduated this past spring, I would have definitely renewed my lease for next year. The bedrooms aren't huge, but they sure beat the dorms. And it's great having everything included in your rent. They do have a limit on electricity and in the winter you tend to go over that amount. But considering the apartments are all electric, this seems reasonable. It sounds like the person above has never lived anywhere where they've had to pay their own bills. I like that they do individual leases too, since one of my roommates was ALWAYS late on rent...it never effected me since we had our own separate leases. As far as breaking your lease, you do have to pay a fee and find someone to take over your lease, but in any contract you sign, there are going to be penalties for breaking it. Just make sure you read the contract over before signing it, which in my opinion is good advice for any contract that you sign! Overall I have been happy with living at Hill Place. All my friends live here and it's not very far from campus. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun place to live while in school!
I've lived at Hill Place for two years and I've never had any problems at all. There was one point where the dish washer was acting up but I called maintenance and it was fixed within the HOUR. The staff cares about their residents and they are constantly trying to improve things. I see workers picking up trash every single day in order to keep the grounds clean. I've heard that there sometimes can be noise problems, but I live on the third floor and have never had trouble. Parking is never an issue, and I love how my friends never have problems with parking either. All in all, it's a great apartment and i recommend living here.
