THE WORST RENTAL PROPERTY IN FARGO! I have never had to deal with such disrespectful and unfair management and owners. I was accused of having a running toilet (never had a running toilet) and was sent a bill for extra water use in my unit (it stated in my lease tenants aren't responsible for water). After I moved out they charged me for painting because of nail holes from hanging pictures on the walls and for nail holes in doors that were listed on my check in when I moved in. The un...view moreit I lived in was so old and run down and when they came to do my check out it was like they were investigating a crime scene! You could tell they were looking for ANYTHING to send me a bill for! I didn't get any of my $535 deposit back and they charged me another $900 on top of that. $1400 to these slumlords because I hung small pictures on my walls and forgot to clean a ceiling fan. If I didn't just have a baby and had more time on my hands I would have taken them to court. Craig Properties was completely in the wrong and no one should rent from them!!view less

DO NOT RENT FROM CRAIG PROPERTIES. After living there for over two years, they became incredibly hostile and bullied and threatened me into leaving. They tried to get me to pay $1400+ for 'damage' to the apartment but I won the small claims case and didn't pay a penny. It didn't stop them from telling other rental companies the horrendous lie that I abused my pet and Animal Control took her, which was completely untrue. I wish to give them zero stars.

When we moved in, the apartment had minor damage to appliances, walls, closets, carpets, etc. On the move-in checklist, the lady who moved us in wrote for work orders to be made to fix said damages. They never fixed a single thing on the list. We had to call repeatedly (they never answered the phone) and then e-mail them constantly about items that needed repair - none of which were damaged by us. It's pretty clear that they did not want to re-invest any money into the complex. They are content to barely keep their heads over water. I think this was especially noticeable when one of our neighbors got a dog. The dog crapped over every square inch of the lawn (the owner never cleaned up after it) and, frankly, neither did Craig Properties. Walking to the parking lot was a daily reminder of how little management cared about its tenants. I never saw anyone vacuum the hallways, wash the windows, or just engage in general upkeep. You will DEFINITELY notice this during a blizzard. They won't even plow the parking lot until 3+ days after the blizzard. By then, everything is one frozen mess that is impossible to navigate. How are people who don't drive trucks/SUVs supposed to get to/from work when we can't even back out of the driveway? Just horrible management. Do yourself a favor and never rent from them.view less

everything is a struggle

My boyfriend and I have been searching for an appartment and finally found one on Craigs list to take over the lease in one of their units. We are just out of high school and both work full time jobs paying $12.50 and every other week 6-6 mandatory over time getting paied at $18.75. We do not own credit cards and haven't bought anything to make payments on being that we are now 18 and they told us that we need a credit score of 600 and the only way we can have a co-signer is if we are ...view morea full time students. Awful, awful, awful!

Very rude and unfriendy staff! I have only lived there for not even a month and I'm already counting down months until I can get out of there. They did not go over the lease very well. I moved in 10/26 and the agreement that we talked about was I would pay the prorate, deposit, and novembers month when moving in. I did that. We asked and MADE SURE verbally that we wouldn't have to pay until december. The staff agreed. (Must have been a misunderstanding) I got a letter in my door yester...view moreday saying I was late for Decembers rent...its November?? I called and left a message. I looked at my lease and in very fine print they wrote that we would prepay every month...dec rent due in nov, jan rent due dec..etc. When we verbally went over everything in the lease that never came up nor when we talked about when our next rent was due was that brought up. I called to figure out what we could do since we misunderstood when rent was due since she verbally told us one date and never went over that part of the lease. I was insulted by the staff member. I called and calmly explained everything and he got very defensive saying "if it was his choice he would give us back our security deposit and have us move out because its a hassle for him to do prepay in the computers (I did not want to prepay anyway) and told me that we were bad tenants...I asked him how we were bad tenants. We are quiet. We JUST moved in and he didn't have a reason really. He was very rude and interrupted and being very rude to me when all I was doing was trying to apologize since there was an obvious misunderstand and to figure out when we could pay.

That's not the first time they were rude. When we were doing the check in we noticed my chimney wouldn't close. She informed maintenance and they came in looked. They said they didn't want to mess with it since its old...understandable. Craig staff told me there is a wait for chimneys for 2 to 3 weeks out. Ok. That's fine. Well, we pay for heat. Its november and only getting colder. There is a draft coming from my fireplace which is their problem. I called and left a message telling her that I had another question about the fireplace. (I was going to see if we could negociate something with the heat bill since this is their error and all my heat is going out the fireplace. So I'm paying extra for heat. She called me back and left a message being extremely rude, (not at rude as the guy) and said she doesn't know why id be calling about the fireplace since she already told us it was 2 to 3 weeks out..well its 2 weeks and still nothing. Every time I talk to them they are very rude. None of the lights in the stairs work so at night I'm walking blind! I called and informed them and nothing has gotten done about it.

This business is absolutely terrible, rude, and very unfriendly. I would never recommend it to anyone. I can't wait until my lease is up so I can move.

This place is terrible. They didnt replace the frayed up carpet (but I guess that's my fault because we did see it and didn't ask if they were replacing it). They didnt clean very well at all!! I had to clean everything. Only surface areas were clean so when we quick glanced at it, it looked decent. There was grease all over the hood of the stove, cupboards were filthy, inside and out, all sort of crap under the stove (magnets, cereal, dust bunnies, etc.), grease in over and drawer und...view moreerneath, dirty floor, grease splatters on walls, fridge dirty insdie and out (layer of food/dust/nastiness inside, THICK layer of grease in drip pans.... thick layer of dust on fans (bedroom and bathroom).. thick layer of dust and junk inside vents (quarters, GLASS, jewelry, etc.).... ""yellow"" drippings in the bathroom (as if someone had smoked in there and the condensation is making it run.... pee behind toilet, soap scum on tub.... i could go on.. but i think u get the picture of how much i cleaned (it took me weeks) then when our garage was damaged it took them months to come fix it.. same with other repairs we needed.. we have to call back over and over and over!!! they dont clear yard of branches, leaves etc... they dont take care of ice at all.. parking is terrible... also they turn our heat of in May (pretty sure we live in North Dakota! May is not an acceptable month to be turning the heat off!!! I think they turned it back on in October! We had to turn our oven on for heat... when you call about a concern you can never get a hold of anyone! They are just terrible.view less

Terrible Staff and Owner

Too bad there isn't an option for NO STARS. The staff and owner are horribly unprofessional...It's obvious to anyone, assuming you can actually speak to someone there. Most of the time they avoid phone calls and rarely return calls. If they do, it's the owner bullying the tenants into backing down when they stick up for themselves. Trash.

Ridiculously horrific rental company

This management company is not worth my time or money. I first called about a bees nest on my kitchen window. They said they would take care of it ""right away"". Right away became two weeks and I ended up borrowing a ladder from across the street at the museum and bought a can of Raid to kill them myself.

The next instance I called about was my bedroom window. It fell out of its track and I couldn't get it to close. They said they put in a work order. Nothing happens once again. I
...view morecalled about 5 times to see why it was still broken (as winter approaches). No intelligent response in return. Then maintenance shows up for a completely different reason and spackles the ceiling all the while getting it all over the floor, chair, rug and curtains. I came home one day to find maintenance in my apartment and when I asked if they fixed the window they said they never received an order to fix a window.

In all these instances I was NEVER called or notified of entry into my apartment. That is rule #1 of renters rights. Reasonable notice of entry.

The final straw that broke the camels back was an eviction notice on my door saying I didn't pay my rent or any subsequent late charges. Then how come my rent check showed up as taken out of my account?? And hypothetically speaking, if I hadn't paid my rent, why wasn't I informed of any late charges, etc??

They have literally been a constant headache since I signed the lease. It's like dealing with a bunch of kids in junior high who shouldn't be in business. I'm seriously considering calling the Better Business Bureau and reporting them.

What can i say... the managers here seem like they didnt even finish high school... they have no idea how to operate a business like this and should not be! Upon moving into a different apt. than the one i looked at (because the old tennants needed more time to move out) i discovered that i didn't have a washer n drier in the unit like the other had, the heater decided to stay on full blast in the middle of june and i not only had to pay the elctric bill it took forever to get someone ...view moreout to change the thermostate. my bathroom ceiling has a hole in it now from the water leaking from upstairs, maint. came to fix that but left the hole and water damage in my apt. as is. the 1st fridge in the apt was so old n didnt cool properly so i could only buy just enuf food for a day at a time i couldnt even keep milk in the apt for my first month here because it would b warm by the morning. i got a 2nd fridge finally brought to me and it was so full of mold who knows what else the maint. ppl dropped it with me and left me to clean it, when we pulled the 1st fridge out i found a few years worth of grime garbage n old food under it that hadn't been cleaned or obviously checked by management before i moved in, (yet the managers themselves were the ones in ""cleaning"" it for me to get it ready) i cleaned the nasty fridge only to find that its compressor was blown so it heated the fridge more than cooled it... finally i got a 3rd fridge brought (about a month into all this) and it finally worked. the holes in my garage walls werent fixed for around 2 months and they get broken into so i couldnt even park my car in the garage i was paying for. i'm still waiting after a year for them to come and put up towel racks in the bathroom and a mirrow over the hole in closet door. i have pics of many of the mentioned things and if thats not enuf for you just ask cuz there is more than this that has occured in not even a full years time.
