Family Pet Hospital is simply amazing. From the staff up front to the staff that goes unseen, there is nothing but smiles and carelessness. I boarded my dog there with a few extra play times purchased for their "decked out" backyard and pool! I was told and even saw a few pictures of my little o…

The post below is very disheartening to me especially since I count the staff at Stone Oak as part of my family. I have taken all of my pets to Dr.Fernandez for the last 15 years and I couldn’t imagine going elsewhere. It appears to me that this family had a terrible experience based on their ow…

I think who ever wrote the song "Who let the dogs out" must have taken their dog to Lucy's! When I watch the dogs barrel through the secured/fenced run from the building to the dog park, I can't help but sing this song! It is so funny and entertaining to watch!! My dog loves coming…

I bought a puppy from PetLand and in order to activate the warranty, I had to take the puppy to Smith and Shedd for an initial exam. After reading the reviews for Smith and Shedd, I have to say I was a little weary about this place. I work at a doctors office so i know the power the reviews have…

I've been a pet owner for over 15 years and I used to dread going to the vet until I found this hospital. At other vet hospitals I have had to wait forever to see a doctor and rushed out after an impersonal visit. Not here. The entire office is staffed by sincerely warm, polite professionals. I …

We've taken our four animals to El Dorado multiple times over the past year, and whether it be an emergency or a routine check-up, we've always had a great experience. We've had pretty much everything under the sun happen as far as pet accidents - here and overseas - and Dr. Mac makes it better…

Just like the planning that went into your vacation, there is planning needed before boarding your pet. Here are some dos and don'ts to help make the process a little easier.
It is sad for me to see all the poor reviews of ADL. Of course, people are much more likely to write a review when they are mad, and unfortunately the hundreds & hundreds of stories of great experiences at ADL go unheard. I have been a volunteer at ADL since earlier this year and I go for 2-3 hours a week. I have been involved with many different shelters & rescues throughout the years, and ADL is one of the best I've seen. The staff & volunteers there care so much about the animals...this is one of the reasons why they don't adopt their dogs & cats out to just anyone. Many people think it would be better to have a dog in ANY home, as opposed to a shelter, but this really isn't the best thing for the dog. If it means the dog has to stay in the shelter for a few more weeks to get them into the best situation FOR LIFE...that's the more responsible thing to do. I also do fostering through ACS & SAPA and I see so many "adopters" bringing their dogs back after just a few days for a variety of reasons. Being a little more stringent on who animals get adopted out to helps avoid this problem, and avoid confusion for the animal as well. ADL cares about dogs/cats going to the best possible home for them. Additionally, I have NEVER seen excessive feces, dirt, etc. in the kennels at ADL...in fact, it's rare to see any at all. From what I've witnessed on a weekly basis, everything is clean, organized & well-run. The dogs have indoor & outdoor areas in their kennels, they have a HUGE walking park where volunteers & staff take the dogs for walks, and many large outdoor areas/kennels where the dogs can get social time, take a dip in the pool, chase a ball or roll in the grass. Volunteer trainers come in to work with the dogs on commands, walking on a leash, etc. ADL puts a lot of time & care into the animals there. Regardless of the other reviews posted here, when you adopt a dog from ADL, you can be sure that you are getting a healthy, socialized, loved & well taken care of animal. I would (and HAVE) reccommend ADL to anyone looking for a new pet to bring into their family.
I LOVE Camp Bow Wow and I'm so glad that I found it. I use to take my dog to another play care, which was close to where I lived. It was ok, but I didn't really like the set up and the staff weren't what I thought was very friendly. I'd heard about Bow Wow from another friend but the location was across town from where I lived. I decided to check it out one Saturday. The first day of play care was free, because during that first day, they determine if your dog gets along/plays well with other dogs. They gave me a tour and explained how the day was set up. The dogs play in an area that allows them to be inside or outside whenever they want. This is great for those hot summer months and very cold winter days. You can drop off as early as 7am, the dogs play until lunch. They will feed them if you want, or if not, they won't. Then the dogs get nap time, because a full day of play care can tucker any dog out! You can pick up anytime in the evening before 7 pm, which is when they close. Very convenient hours for the working dog owner! You can watch your pup play all day on their dogcams, which are accessed from their website. But the number 1 reason I take my dog way across town to Camp Bow Wow is the owners and the staff. They truly love the dogs and take very good care of them- they know all the dogs names and they dogs love them! It's a great feeling when you know your dog is safe and having a blast. Boarding is awesome too. The cabins are large and they have suites too. All day play care is included in the boarding costs, which are very reasonable! They cater to your dog during the day and when you board- any special needs, just let them know and they will be taken care of. In addition, they are always involved at the local animal rescue events and have even fostered dogs at their daycare. I suggest to anyone who is looking for an awesome dog daycare to give Camp Bow Wow a try. The first day is free so what do you have to lose?
I have adopted both a dog and a cat from this shelter. I have also volunteered and donated food, money and supplies for the last two years. Cheryl is an angel to these animals. She works very hard to supply the very best for these animals which is extremely hard in these times when both donations and supplies are hard to come by. This shelter is also a sanctuary for some of the animals that will never find a forever home due to behavior, health or emotional problems. For them this shelter is their forever home. The employees, volunteers and supporters of this shelter know the truth about the care and love that these animals get. Cheryl knows each and every animal very well and is very careful about wanting to place them with the right family so that they will not be returned to the shelter and she has been critized alot about this. All responsible shelters should monitor who adopts their animals so that the best possible outcome is established. Not all are good fits, but there are many wonderful dogs and cats at this shelter that would make wonderful additions to someone's family. Please consider Animal Friends when looking for a new pet for your family.
