I ate my lunch amongst the bears, deer and horses along route 66, while sipping on iced tea. Sound too farfetched? Honestly, I am not too far from the truth, because at Angelo's Family Restaurant that's what you get. Located in Fairview, NC, Angelo's brings the outside world to you. Pictures of horses and black bears cover the walls, while deer mantels hang above the fireplace; not to mention the route 66 gas pump located near the front entrance. I have to say I was impressed.
I decided to try the traditional ham and turkey sandwich and was not disappointed. The chef stuffed my sandwich with so much meat and vegetables that I felt I might stretch my mouth to the limit. Napkins were a necessity to surviving that meal, but I did not mind wiping my face every few minutes because the taste was good and filling. Eat at Angelo's if you want great service and a full stomach!
