Fortel's Pizza Den

My family and I have been eating at Fortel's Pizza Den in Fairview Heights for over 12 years. It was our go to pizza place in the area. Over that decade, we've paid them over a thousand dollars (yes, we really like pizza). On November 7, I placed an order for delivery. I specified no onions on the pizza and when they read the order back to me they repeated no onions. The pizza is delivered 40 minutes or so (a reasonable amount of time) later. There is onions on it. I can't eat onions because they don't agree with me. I thought about just forgetting about it, but when I'm going to spend 30 dollars (including tip) on a pizza, It should be right. I call Fortel's to say the order was wrong. The manager called me a liar by saying when it left the kitchen, it was right. From the get go, she was rude with a customer. I have spent years in customer service and no customer should be talked to the way she talked to me. Eventually she said she would send another pizza and we would give her back the other one which I assume they would just throw away (if they would give that pizza out again, that's a whole other issue entirely). While waiting, my mother ate a two or three of the 16ish square pizzas slices. This was more than fair considering they delayed dinner by an hour. About 40 minutes or so later, the driver came and we swapped pizzas. This time the pizza was right. Jump forward to December 4, I call again to order. I place the order and then the phone is handed to the manager (same manager as before). She originally told me I complained about a hair and returned the pizza with over three quarters of it eaten. I told her that was not true. We bickered back and forth. She said either I'm lying or her driver is. I know I'm not lying. I don't know if the driver is lying about the amount or documented it wrong. I don't know. She says she no longer wants to business with us. It's a shame such a good pizza place treats customers like this.

Ordered for delivery. They said 45 minutes. I called after 2 hours and my pizza hasn't even left yet. Lady I spoke with said they have been slow tonight. I canceled and will never order from them again.

Fortel's is a great experience for everybody! Not only do they have some of the best pizza, but they have Great leadership and that truly appreciates their clients!

Ive been to many of the Fortel's pizza Den's, This one is by FAR the BEST!! The atmosphere is family oriented, a great place for kids. They have a private dining area we have used for some birthday parties, and it's free. The owners are always on site and very down to earth regular people. The pizza is always great with generous toppings.They have a small dough area in the back of the store where they make the dough from scratch every day. The menu is huge, so even if you dont feel like pizza you can get great deli sandwiches or tons of appetizers. I cant say enough nice things about this store and the people who run it. You need to try it, you'll see it completely blows any other pizzaria out of the water.
