- General Info
- Why should you bring your child to a pediatric dentist? Because we provide everything your child needs for a bright, healthy smile from the first checkup to cleaning to sealants - in a place that’s friendly, familiar and fun. Dr. Musser and his staff know how to be sensitive to your child’s fears from the very first time they come to visit. Whether it’s holding a hand or explaining instruments and terminology in a way that educates rather frightens, they help your child look forward to each visit. Positive feelings about dental care formed at this early age often last a lifetime. Additionally, a child’s mouth has to be treated differently than an adult mouth. The teeth and bone structure are different, and they can change almost overnight. Dr. Musser prepares for this development in his treatment plans to give your children the healthy, bright smiles they deserve when they grow up. Dr. James R. Musser D.D.S. - Pediatric Dentistry - We Keep Punctual Appointments! Some specifics about Dr. Musser’s treatment include: Dr. Musser may recommend sealants for your child’s permanent molars to prevent tooth decay. A sealant is a white protective coating that is applied to the chewing surfaces of your child’s permanent molars. Sealants are quite durable and should last a number of years. They are a step toward preventing tooth decay, but do not replace good oral hygiene and other preventative measures. Dr. Musser also performs restorative dentistry for children. In addition to attending to the routine restorative needs of his child patients, the doctor specializes in complete dental restoration under general anesthesia for children who are apprehensive or were previously traumatized by dental treatment restraints. Dr. Musser and his team do not use restraints or papoose boards at any time and they welcome parents in the Children’s Treatment Area and work with children at their own pace.
