Avoid this shop if at all possible...

We were referred to this shop by our vehicle extended warranty provider. We only needed the ignition replaced since it had locked up, and they told us that they would order it and it would be ready in one day. After two days they had it ready for us, but informed us they did not replace the ignition itself, but replaced the ignition switch instead and that should fix the problem. We drove it for about three hours and the ignition locked up again, stranding us at a store with our young kids at 9:30 at night. Plus, the headlights wouldn't turn off once you turned them on, and that had never happened before. We had the vehicle returned to them and they said they would order the ignition and fix the lights, and they should have it done in a day. After five days, they finally got the ingition in and installed it, but said they didn't see a problem with the lights. I went to their shop and demonstrated the problem. The owner/manager Joseph told me that since the lights turned off eventually it was okay that the switch wasn't turning them off. I told him that was because of the bypass that kept the lights from running the battery down, and the switch should be working. When I pointed out that the bell was dinging to tell you that the lights had been left on and the door was open, Joseph told me I should just shut the door and the dinging would stop. I said yes that's true, but the lights are still on! Joseph then offered to go to another customer's vehicle that was the same make and model of mine and 'borrow' (aka STEAL) the switch from his vehicle in order to fix mine. I was shocked to hear him offer to remove a working part from another customer's vehicle and install it in my vehicle to fix what his technician broke. I told him I no longer wanted him to do any more work on my vehicle and I would get the problem fixed elsewhere.
Three more days and several hundred dollars later, a factory dealership diagnosed and replaced the lights assembly switch which had been shorted out. Upon reading the Chilton auto repair manual for my vehicle, I found that if you don't place the key in the on position before removing the ignition it will short out the other switches in the steering column. Oh, and by the way, that first switch he replaced was probably shorted out as well due to this issue. And I figure if I could figure that out, a paid ASE certified technician should have known that.
After being lied to, given the run-around, offered stolen parts from another vehicle, and having a one day job turn into 9 days of inconvenience and headache, I cannot say it strongly enough- run, don't walk, away from this business!!!!!

Professionalism

well I haven't seen the work side done but I've seen the customer service side and Dan is a very nice Well Spoken person .an listened to my concerns about my transmission.I had my transmission rebult somewhere else very bad experience. .the honesty is what got me.from the road test rideing with him.it s good to know that the oldschool techs are still around in stead of the thieves that constantly guess our make things wrose.trans is something you must be dedicated and very well knowknowledgeabl of not like regular mechanic work.so I'll write another review after work has been done.
from mechanic to mechanic thanks Dan.Stephen. m

The staff at AAMCO was AMAZING...

The staff at AAMCO was AMAZING!!! I had been running around town for 2 days trying to get my car fixed and nobody ever gave me a solution to my problem. They just kept me running in circles. I went to AAMCO and they assisted me with EXCELLENT customer service, and the wait wasn' long at all. They got me in and out and I am VERY SATISFIED with their service. Jason was the mechanic that serviced my car and was a BLESSING to me. I had spent over $400 for a new alternator, battery and spark plugs not including the labor I had paid to the mechanic that worked on my car. My battery light would not go off and the mechanic that had previously serviced my car could not tell me why. However, Jason found the solution to my problem. The wire that went from my battery to my alternator had been snapped so there was no power being generating to my battery or to my alternator which was causing my battery light to stay on and car shut off. Jason was so COMPASSIONATE about my situation that he was going to fix the wiring free of charge. He was a lifesaver so there was no way that I would have left with out paying him something. I would definitely recommend them to all my friends. The STAFF their is GREAT!!!!!

This is the only place I will take my car! I take it there for the basic things too such as oil changes and A/C work. Not only do they take the time to listen to what I say but they treat me as an equal, not just "some lady off the street". I really feel they are honest and not just out to make a buck. I would definitely recommend taking your vehicle(s) here.

We've been twice with both our vehicles and will return should we need to. The service was exceptional! We didn't feel overcharged or taken advantage of, nor did we feel like we were lied to. In fact, we feel they treated us above and beyond what they should have. Both our vehicles run wonderfully and haven't given us the slightest bit of trouble since bringing them in. Absoultely will recommend!

We had our transmission rebuilt for our Ford Explorer by one of the AAMCO's in Colorado Springs. When we were on our way home from Sherman TX we made it about 5 miles before our transmission gave out. This is around 7pm on a Thursday. There were no AAMCO's in the area so I started calling the ones in DFW hoping to get ahold of someone. I finally got the one in Euless the owner of the shop no less. He arranged to have the car towed to his shop that night and let me know he would check it first thing in the morning. He even asked if we needed help with a hotel! The next morning Joseph the manager called to let us know our transmission would have to be rebuilt again and that he would take care of everything with the AAMCO in the Springs. We figured we were going to be stuck over the weekend but Joseph told us he was going to try to have it done that day so we could get back on the road. Joseph the owner and the rest of the crew stayed until 7pm that night to get our vehicle done. We were

I brought my Honda Odyssey to AAMCO in Euless as requested by my extended warranty company. They got a rental car arranged for me, kept in touch with me throughout to let me know the status and handled all the billing with my warranty company. Very good experience!

I had gotten several prices from other shops that were a little less, but went with the AAMCO warranty as I travel throughout the country. Transmission works great now, so no complaints there. Price wise seemed decent. Other shops quoted less, but after reading up on the BBB, seems a lot of them quote a low price to get you in and then jack you up once they get the transmission out. AAMCO was very straightforward on pricing and did not try anything. One of the few times I have gotten my car fixed and not felt taken advantage of!
