I very seldom write reviews but I wanted to share my experience with Maxxum Marine. All the guys there are very helpful, informative and really know their stuff. I had my boat built by Lloyd and Stacy in the 1990s and it is the best boat I have ever owned. I put my old 88hp Johnson on it and used it for years. Maxxum always did the maintenance and service when I needed it. Those guys got more years out of that old motor than I ever thought possible. When my Johnson finally went kaputz and I needed to repower my boat, I went to Maxxum. Lloyd was so helpful and patient with my wife and me. He answered all our questions for weeks while we made up our minds on what motor to buy. Lloyd is also very knowledgeable on propping a boat to get the best performance possible. Our boat is now up on plain in an instant and we can even pull a skier, which we could never do with our old motor. In my opinion Maxxum Marine is exceptional. Lloyd and Stacy the owners, are nice honest guys and they go out of their way to run a respectable, friendly business. I would not go anywhere else to have my boat serviced or repaired. I have been a satisfied customer for over 16 years. Lonnie Creswell, OR

Wait Until Michael S get's a full load from the other places around town. The joke about B.O.A.T standing for Break Out Another Thousand, is not at all a joke. Boat owners that don't like dying a slow painful deaths had better figure out how to play nice with the family at Mel's has been the best boat place around Eugene for at least a decade. Anyone in these parts that has invested over 5-10k into boating should already know Bud and his family who IME have all ALWAYS been straight up and honest to everyone that I know.
Howard definetly knows boat repair. And he knows how to get the right information from the manufacturer to get it done right. I have a 89 Mariner 100 on an 89 Marlin and the engine had not been winterized by the previous owner. Howard went through all the hoops to get information from Mercury as this is a pretty finicky engine. It really ran great when he was done.
