This is a very old, historical hotel so if your looking for fancy amenities, this isn't the place. Creaking hallways and small rooms but did I say it was historic? Bonus, some even say it's haunted to boot. This is apparently the inspiration for Stephen King's, "The Shining," which is continuously shown on one of the channels. Can you say, "redrum?"Like this review?Yes|Flag Abuse

I stayed at the Stanley Hotel on 7/24/08. I was worried after reading some of the reviews but I have to say that we had a wonderful time. The Hotel is beautiful and the room that we stayed in (room 323) was fantastic. It was a very large room and was spotlessly clean. The furnishings were elegantly appointed and we had a fantastic view of a nearby lake. The only disappointments: no small refrigerator in room, no... view moreLike this review?Yes|Flag AbuseProvided by Citysearch
I am a CO native and had never actually stayed at the Stanley. I had been there for business and weddings only. So, I decided to treat myself on 6/1/08. At $155 a night, I was looking forward to lounging in the hotel provided bathrobe in a plush setting. When I arrived, the first thing I noticed were the grounds - they need a lawn service because the grass was dying and full of weeds. The lobby is beautiful and ... view moreLike this review?Yes|Flag AbuseProvided by Citysearch
Brought my company up to the property right before the Holidays and had an amazing 3 day experience at the Stanley and can't wait to come back. Service was superb, the place has so much charm and feels right. It is hard to describe, it just feels nice. The meeting rooms are unparalleled in the Rockies or Colorado. I love this hotel!Like this review?Yes|Flag AbuseProvided by Citysearch
Words cannot express how much we love this hotel. Incredible views, inviting staff and a mouthwatering meal their fabulous Cascades Restaurant. As residents of CO we are able to enjoy the hotel often throughout the winter months; when it is quiet and peaceful. As a matter of fact, we love it there so much, it will be home to our wedding this winter. Even the wedding coordinators have been an absolute joy and we can't... view moreLike this review?Yes|Flag AbuseProvided by Citysearch
