While skilled in treating various foot and ankle conditions, Dr. Pellersels and Dr. Kriedberg particularly specialize in foot and ankle surgery, as well as treating sports injuries, wound care, heel pain, and neuromas.
Ankle Surgery
Dr. Pellersels is a podiatric surgeon who received his undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 1986 and then attended the Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery where he graduated in 1990. Dr. Pellersels was a member of Pi Delta, the National Podiatric Honor Society. After graduation he performed a surgical residency at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa under direction of Dr. Terry Lichty and Dr. William Gronen. After his residency Dr. Pellersels began practicing in the St. Paul, MN suburbs as well as community hospitals in Western Wisconsin and the St. Croix Valley. Dr. Pellersels is board certified as a Diplomat of the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery, Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and a member of the Minnesota Podiatric Medical Society.
Bunion Surgery

Bunions
A bunion is a bony, painful swelling that is often formed on the first joint of the big toe. Bunions can be extremely painful due to the weight of all your body resting on it each time you take a step. Everyday activities, such as walking and wearing shoes, can cause you extreme discomfort if you have a bunion.
Ingrown Toenails
Ingrown toenails can form when the side of a toenail begins to grow into the flesh surrounding the nail. As a result, the affected toe—most commonly the big toe—may become red, swollen, painful, and—in severe cases—infected.

Corns
Many patients might already be familiar with the term corns on the feet. This term denotes a particular kind of affliction of the foot in which friction causes a hardened circle of skin to form. Many patients often ask podiatrists where on the feet corns typically develop. The answer is that corns can sometimes be primarily located on the toes of the feet. However, corns can essentially develop anywhere on the feet where friction is present. These other locations on which corns may develop include the soles of the feet or the top of the foot. Ingrown Toenails
Treatment for an ingrown toenail will vary on a case by case basis. One form of treatment requires lifting the ingrown nail and placing a splint or piece of cotton underneath. Another method for a more severe case would involve partially removing the nail. For cases that need extreme care, the nail itself and tissue would have to be removed.
