Strongsville Hobby of Elyria

The Hobby Store of Elyria aka Strongsville Hobby of Elyria. They recently changed the store name to avoid all the bad publicity they have gotten and customers they ripped-off. They were forced to down size the store because of their piss poor management. Angry customers result in very few new sales or returning customers.

I have been reading the other comments and see the owner of this business act so childish and unprofessional on a site ment for customers to voice their opinions is shameful. I would not recommend this place to any one.

All their products have been opened, not just display items but almost ALL the stock and been opened. Incompetent and incomplete repairs, the sales guy took parts off the wall that were for a different model and tried to use them on my car. Said he could modify the parts to fit. He dropped screws from the package and then couldn’t find them, reclosed the package and put it back on the wall.

Since the old man left this store has tanked, there is no customer service now. What I have tried to have them order takes months. Forced to order most parts and delivery to the store can take weeks. My parts weren't delivered for 7 weeks, and they refused to cancel my order and return my money. Once they have your money good luck getting your items.

Poor customer service, when ask questions they are extremely rude and are very uninterested in making a happy customer. Brand new truck out of the box doesn't work so I took it back. This is the responce I got from the sales man, "if they don’t power on I can’t trouble shoot them and if they aren’t powering on, it has to be something you did to them that made them not work."

The sales guy lied about the price over the phone and charged me more when I went in to buy my parts. From what I have read online, this seems to be the theme with this place. Rip-off as many customers as you can.

Beware as stated the have a no return policy or exchange, bought a RC car and battery, battery was bad and was told to call the manufacturer. Like said before happy to take your money till there's a problem. Also had a friend drive 45 min to find them closed a hour early

I have been the original store in Strongsville and the service was decent. this new location and Jerry Jr's management has trashed this place. my friends and and family have also gone to the Elyria store and they tell me the same thing.

The original store was okay but this place is worthless and has only been ran this way for like 6 years but the owner keeps saying 35yrs, he's nothing but a scammer. He has not ran any business this badly for more than 6 years.

I know for a fact his raffles are a scam and rip-off all you end up doing is giving him money for nothing. Very very bad way to run a business. Completely worthless store, run the other way.

great family owned business for 35years ,they have all the hobby supplies you need for a beginner or someone with experience.

This place is awesome. The guys know there stuff and make it easy to get you cars and trucks and anything they have fixed. This is the place to go if your a beginner.they will help you get what you need.

My husband ordered parts for my sons truck in August. Since the store didn't have them they had to be ordered. He paid for the parts and also a body for the truck. We waited a couple of weeks for a call from them but we had to call them about our order. I was told they had been ordered but the store was waiting for the shipment. Fast forward 3 more weeks, still no call from them. My husband ordered the parts online and got them within a week for a hobby store out of town. He went back to get a refund for the parts that had not came in. They said the parts were on back order but would not give him the money back. We paid for something the we never received and they will not refund or money. The owners of this store steal the money from people wanting to shop there, and give them the run around. DO NOT spend any money at this store.

Ripped off 220.00 after being told a motor/esc combo was waterproof numerous times to find out it was not and they won't do anything about it SCAM

BE WARNED! They will lie to make the sale and have a NO RETURN policy that they will not tell you about until you attempt to make a return. They were very nice to my wife while she was looking to purchase a Christmas gift for our son. She was hesitant to make the purchase. They lied to her to make the sale. They told my wife not to worry and they would take it back if there were any problems. Not a single mention of their real policy. They have a no return policy that is written on the counter and never referred to unless you try to make a return. The item she purchased was low quality and stopped working within the first few hours. I attempted to return it and was talked over and lied too. One of them said they told this policy to my wife. I called her while in the store and that person never even talked to her. You can tell by they show you to the door while interrupting you that they have a lot of practice telling people this policy only when a return is attempted. Very rude, deceptive, and dishonest people working here. Be aware of all the other reviews that state the same things I did. Also' be aware that some of the positive reviews are actually posted by employees. VERY SHADY BUSINESS. BE WARNED! Lastly, if you got the same type of treatment, please post a review to warn people as well.

pitiful business ethics, another review site, I found the owner putting his own review on it about how it was such a great place.pfft. then my husband spends a huge amount of money there and we get a receipt that looks like its from a garage sale. its ripped crooked both sides and just has price printed on it, not even name of business or who checked us out. pitiful and I better not get crap if I need to return item, if you go here have them write you a proper receipt especially spending that kind of money
