"When my fiancé, Tom, proposed it was one of the happiest moments of my life. He had rented a limo to take us to dinner. When we were done, the limo took us down West Bay Drive in Olympia and stopped at a little gravel lot. We got out to walk around and there was a deck where you could go up and look out over the water. It was beautiful, chilly October night, the sky was clear, moon was full and it was super romantic. We were standing on the deck in the moonlight when he popped the question!! Tom and I have lived in Olympia most of our lives, it is a beautiful city and we love it here. When I went looking for a wedding photography I wanted to find someone that could capture the essence of the city in our pictures while still making us the center of attention. I googled cheap engagement photos and Mike’s name popped up first for my search. I was skeptical at first because cheap has a different meaning for people and I have always been told that you get what you pay for. When I went to Mike’s website, the first thing I noticed was how much nature you could see in his photos, but it didn’t distract you from the people in the picture. I liked the photos right away and when I went to the price list, I was very pleased. The pricing was right what I was looking for. I called Mike and made an appointment for Tom and me to meet with him. Mike took the time to explain EVERYTHING. He brought lots of sample photos, showed real genuine interest in making the photo shoot about Tom and I and what we wanted. He stressed how important the meeting was so we could develop some type of relationship before shooting our photos. He even took the time to explain different types of photographs, paper and pricing of similar photographers and why prints are so high. We settled on a date, signed the contract, paid ½ down and left the meeting very pleased. When we met for our photo shoot, it was beautiful but chilly afternoon. We decided to meet at the place where Tom proposed. The sky was clear blue, sun was shining and the fog was still lingering. I thought it was so perfect, especially for November. Mike continued to impress me when he said Him and his wife had shown up earlier and had not only looked around the site where we were to meet but also traveled the area a bit and found another destination, in close proximity, where they thought we could take some nice pictures. We finished the photo shoot in an hour, paid and went home to anxiously await the pictures. Mike sent me a sample photo about a week after the photo session, just to give me a little preview of what was to come, it was gorgeous (wish I could attach it to this review!!) Mike was finished in less time then he estimated and that I thought. We met to so I could get my cd and he had also done some sample prints for me. The pictures were breathtaking! I was so pleased with how everything had turned out; Mike’s artistic vision and ability to capture the beauty of nature without compromising Tom and I in the photo. Whenever I show my photos to anyone my favorite comment is “Oh they are so beautiful. Oh I recognize that place. I remember when …” and then they launch into a story about downtown Olympia, something they did or saw. Its so wonderful to hear that and makes me so happy Mike was able to capture that in the photos. We plan to use Mike for our wedding photographer also. I highly recommend meeting with him before you commit to any other photographer!!!"
