Honcho Rest Campground is located on 1, 000 feet of frontage on beautiful, private Bass Lake. We are in between Elk Lake and Lake Michigan, across the street from the Elk Rapids Public Golf Course. Honcho Rest has 95 campsites and 2 cabins ; approximately 50% are rented to seasonal guests. All 95 of our sites have sewer, water, electric, cable television, and wi-fi. To see what Honcho Rest will have next check out "Our Future." Honcho Rest Campground was established in 1972 in the Village of Elk Rapids. The name originated from the founder of the campground who was a businessman from Indianapolis. His co-workers referred to him as the "Head Honcho." When he was not working, he came to Elk Rapids for a leisurely vacation, or "rest, " and the name "Honcho Rest" was born. Honcho Rest is and has been the only full hook-up campground in Elk Rapids and a premier campground in the entire Chain of Lakes region.
