I am remiss in writing this review. After being tasked with the sale of my father-in-law's military collection in 2015 I came to Milt and Jay for guidance on how to begin the massive task of inventorying and establishing the value of more than 60 years of collecting militaria - much of it firearms. Before going into detail, perhaps the most important thing I can say about this experience is that Milt and Jay first helped me come up with a plan to divest the family of the collection in a manner most beneficial to the family. The plan included consignment of some firearms in their store, sending the more unique items to an on-line auction seller with an impeccable reputation, and the recommendation that I keep certain firearms for my own collection. Additionally Jay and I negotiated a price for him to provide me an extensive written inventory, grading the condition, completeness with regard to matching serial numbers, and any unique information with regard to date of manufacture, issuance, and rarity, and then cleaned and reassembled each gun. Whether you're selling one gun, or an entire collection I highly recommend that you contact Milt and Jay. Shootin Shack Guns is by far the best gun store in Northern California. I have never been in a guns store where there was as much gun knowledge. They answered my questions and have always treated me with respect. I have been to many other shops and have been treated so-so but the guys at the Shootin Shack are always friendly whether you are buying something or have just stopped in to see what's new. Buying the right gun is important so you want to go somewhere where they know what they are talking about and not just trying to make a sale, these guys do. The Shootin Shack is great.

This place is great! They have a VERY knowledgeable staff on all subjects gun related. I first went there right after they first opened and was speaking with the bald owner about a broken rifle I have. He told me to bring it in and they would take a look at it. It was a Winchester 94 and ended up having a broken firing pin. They fixed it that day, and only charged me $25.00. I don't know anywhere else where you can get same day service for a major gun repair at such a great price. The other reviewer is 180 degrees off track when it comes to Milt and Jay, the owners of the store. Being a man of color, I can tell you that there has never been any sign of racism the many, many times that I have been in the store. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great service, better than fair prices, friendly atmosphere, and just a good place to hang out and talk guns.
