Founded in 1893, Family & Children s Services is a nonprofit agency that provides welfare, behavioral health and social services for children, youths and adults. The agency focuses on protecting at-risk children and supports disadvantaged families. It also offers foster care, adoption and child abuse prevention programs. Family & Children s Services has a work force of more than 50 full- and part-time employees. The agency provides counseling, assessment, referral and case management services to over 2000 individuals annually. In addition, it offers family permanency services, including pre- and post-adoption counseling. Family & Children s Services provides recreational services for siblings placed in separate foster homes to help them bond with their biological sisters and brothers. It is a licensed New Jersey Adoption Agency and approved Medicaid provider. The agency is accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Children and Family Services. Family & Children s Services is a member of the Family Association of New Jersey and New Jersey Association of Mental Health Agencies.
