        Was in a pinch like so may others when your looking for a plumber. Did a search online. Skipped over roto rooter, had heard disappointing stories. Clicked on the link for “ emergency plumber for my area”. They answered the phone “roto rooter”. My gut told me to hang up, but I didn’t. They could come out right away. Keith came. Very professional. Long story short. I need a new water main valve. He put a bit of fear in me of the outcome had I chosen to replace the valve yesterday. My option was to try and tightened the nut on the valve. I chose that option. $225 for ten minutes total visit and a quarter turn of the wrench. That’s the service call charge. So. If I chose to have roto rooter do the actual work. It’s $450 plus another servive charge of $225. Bottom line. The service guys are commissioned based. If your looking for good work at a fair price, you click on a link and they answer the phone “roto rooter”. Hang up. Find an independent contractor that will charge per job. Wish I had.
