Very disappointed in the food and service by the management. There were so many problems on this visit: there was a dead roach poured into my daughter's tea glass from a pitcher by the waiter and the food was cold and even after sending it back it was returned only slightly warmer. Manager was unable to offer some remedy, saying that they could do anything because the owner was not on site. Don't waste your time or... view more

Editorial review from Citysearch

The food is delicious, fresh, and served in big portions. I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try!

I use to live in El Paso but now live near Fort Worth. When ever I come back I have to stop and eat here. IMHO you would have to look very hard to find food this consistantly good or better.

I've lived in El Paso for over 30 years and had never been to this restaurant. My husband took me on a whim. I did have high hopes. The atmosphere was nice and our waiter was very pleasant. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre and over salted. I played it safe and ordered the tortilla soup (which did have chicken and overripe avocado). Husband usually orders a combination plate. It wasn't very authentic either. I w... view more

My all time favorite

I can't even believe this place is still open. I lived in El Paso in the early 80's. Every time my parents asked me where I wanted it eat, it was Forti's, without question. \r My favorite was the cheese enchiladas. They were to die for.\r If you ever start shipping dinners to Chicago, PLEASE let me know.\r I highly recommend this resterant.

Authentic Mexican Food at its BEST!!!

We visited this establishment and enjoyed the food at lunch time. Plate was served with plenty of food. Our guests that accompanied us also enjoyed the food. The service was poor. The young waiter forgot about us and we found ourselves flagging other staff members to re-fill our drinking glasses. The standing around of waiters talking and not catering to its patrons was sad to look at. I would recommend the pla... view more

Avoid at all cost, and save your money!!!!!!!

The worst place to eat in El Paso, if you want over priced ""Mexican food"" that is no where near close to being any good and having your order giving to you wrong this is your place. I lived in El Paso for over 30 years and my advise towards this place is to don't just walk away, RUNAWAY!!! The cashier couldn't even run a credit card correctly, charging me someone's bill and then had to wait to get a refund. Just... view more

The salsa is awesome

Forti's is one of the best mexican restaurants i've ever been to. The tamale on my combo plate was excellent & the salsa that comes with the chips is incredible. Very delicious food! You need to eat here.
