Hilltop Animal Hospital

I've been going to this vet since 2003, and I couldn't ask for more. Dr. Hill is blunt and honest, which is what I want in a vet. She cares about the animals, and does everything she can for them. The prices are extremely reasonable and they offer in office lab work with a minimal wait, which is wonderful. She is also one of the few vets who will listen to you. I would recommend. I drive my cats all the way from Pittsburgh to go there.

Tonight we took approximately 15 little Girl Scouts to visit the place that almost every little girl dreams of as a future career...the veterinarian. Let's just say that I was in disbelief that grown adults could treat our little daisies so badly. We were greeted with three frowning faces with the statement from a tech ,"I forgot you were coming". She went on to say to a guy sitting (he never did stand up btw) at the front desk that she "doesn't know what to say to them". One of the little girls asked to see some animals and they were told that they only had one cat there. (One cat too many if u ask me). The tech asked the guy to get the cat and he said to just "show them a scale or something". At this point the tech hasn't said anything to the kids. We slowly followed her to a scale. Then walked back a narrow hallway to glance into the operating room. We noticed the hero of the hour (the vet herself) sitting in a room with her feet propped up and playing on her phone. The white coat gave her away and we excitedly looked in at her....and she told the tech to "shut the door". The trip last about three more minutes. I was embarrassed that this happened. Not sure how they treat pets, but they surely don't know how to treat people. The one star rating is a gift. I was required to select one.

I really like this veterinarian. I moved out of the area but still take my cat back to this place once a year. The prices are reasonable and I've always been satisfied with how the vet and vet tech treat me and my pet.

I took my 6 month old puppy there for her first vet visit. After numerous times of spelling out her name for the guy at the desk, the spelling was still spelled wrong on her records. The vet assistant was very nice and helpful. She gave us a lot of information on how to care for our puppy. However, when I took my dog in the room and put her up on the table the everybody acted like she should keep very still and not move an inch. My puppy is a very friendly dog who loves attention and is always wagging her tail. They didnt seem to like this very much because she wouldnt hold still and got very annoyed with my dog and I. Dogs are going to be dogs and not very many are going to hold still and not move an inch for somebody trying to probe stuff in their ears or up thier bum. I thought my puppy did excellent for her first vet visit, but the attitude that I got the employees was that it was a pain the rear for them to even be there, then made it even worse when my puppy wouldnt sit there like a bump on a log. I am not taking my puppy back there. I am going to find a friendly, puppy loving place that will want to handle and care for my dog.

I made an appointment for my dog to be examined and explained I was leaving the country with the animal. A week or so later I called with a question regarding the animal and the man who answered the phone told me the Vet did not plan on keeping the appointment. At no time did the office call to let me know they canceled. If I wouldn't have called myself, I would not have had enough time to make a new appointment and make my flight. The office was not sympathetic and said in a coy manner 'good luck, I don't want to mess with it'.



Based on my experience, I would say if you are looking for a responsible, caring and trusting Veterinary Hospital, I would NOT recommend Hilltop Animal Hospital.
