We are from the area, but needed a room for couple nights while work was done on our apartment. We didn't want to spend a fortune and search for cheap places. The Scottish Inn popped up on Priceline and the rate was great and the pictures of the rooms made it a deal. Check in was easy, very friendly. You can tell the owners just remodeled the place, must be new owners as we had no issues with them. Our room had a new flat screen, new carpet, AC, and the bed was better then most for the price we paid. Room was extremely clean, bedding very soft. The first morning my husband went to work and me and our daughter left for a few hours. Within that time they came in, put a fridge, microwave and three new lamps. Also were super sweet and remade the bed, even folding my kids blanket and placing her pillow pet sweetly in the bed as if we lived their. You can tell this is family run, lots of care went into the rooms. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was due to the wifi not reaching outer room, last room on the floor. For the cheap price, your getting more then the Super8 next door. I'm going to recommend to family and friends.
My check in went very quick and smoothly. I had a pool side room near an exit door. It's an older motel, but the rooms were clean. Even though it was pool side I did not smell chlorine like and it was not overly humid like a lot of hotels. Thought it was a great room and a great price. I was booked for two night, but ended up only staying one night. The bed was comfortable. The fridge and coffee maker were in working order. The pool area closed at 11:00 pm and all went silent and I fell asleep almost immediately.
I have stayed at many hotels in the Eau Claire area, but the AmericInn tops them all. The hotel was very clean and comfortable which made me feel safe and at home while traveling alone. The pool was warm, breakfast was good, and the staff was very helpful. Another reason I enjoyed this location is the fact I didn't have to fight through town to get back on the road to start another busy day.
