Our curriculum is rich and rewarding. Activities are designed to develop language and reading readiness skills, enhancing physical, social, emotional and intellectual growth, skills and attitudes, which will increase their ability to succeed in school. The children learn by exploring the masterpieces of the classical artists and musicians. Spanish is integrated into the daily lessons. We believe that children are never too young to learn. Rising Star also has a Healthy/Fit Kids curriculum to help children develop lifelong healthy habits with food choices and exercise. Our certified teachers, teaching assistants and aides are dedicated to our philosophy of teaching and are committed to the love, care and nurturing of each of our enrolled studetns. Staff credentials include certification in CPR and First Aid training. Our students are taught at their individual ability levels and their learning has no limits! Little Artists:The children explore various artists including Degas, Picasso, Van Gogh, Matisse, and many more. They view famous pieces of work and identify colors, shapes, objects as well as many other aspects of the paintings. Social Studies is also taught through art. The children are taught the history of the artists and using maps they can locate the many places the artists have visited. The children are also invited to paint their interpretation of the artists work. Kinder-Spanish: The students are exposed to Spanish throughout their day. During Circle Time they are taught the days, months, weather, shapes, and colors in English and Spanish. They are also encouraged to participate in counting and reciting the alphabet in both English and Spanish. These activities are presented in fun and very motivational ways using songs, poems, and play to aid the children in learning. Healthy Kids: Our center is focused on helping our children grow up healthy and fit. We provide two healthy snacks each day. In addition fresh fruits and vegetables, and whole grain products are served each day as part of the lunch we prepare. Fit Kids: The children are encouraged to move around at various points of the day. Music, dancing, and outside play are part of our daily routine. The children are invited to play in our playground and use age appropriate bikes, scooters, and various other kinds of playground equipment.
