Overall
THanks ECCAS

Just a short note. My experience with ECCAS was really good. When you arrive there, it does look like a private home. You enter into a very nice office home style settings. There are a few offices, but the whole setup and the people there gives you a sense of comfort and they really do make you feel like a person. They call you by your last name and address you like they knew you forever. Yes. They do help you. When I left Mrs. Blake walked me to the front door and she even talked to me for a qucik minute outside about the weather, and we laughed about other things. I did get the help I was looking for and I have to report back every week.

Really honest and Good Agency. Looks small but does BIG things for the community. They also gave me a voucher for furniture. Not a lot but it helped.

Thanks too, Ms.Blake, Pastor Blake, Jesse and all their partners for help when needed.

Overall
Thank You Essex County Children Advocate Services

Hi my name is Wendy and I live in Essex County NJ. My experience with ECCAS has been a good one. I have a good case manager who is helping me through my hard times. I am currently working and have been on my job for two years. But my husband who is out of work caused us to fall behind in our bills including our rent. I found ECCAS online and called for an appointment. When my husband and I arrived and entered in, we knew his agency was about business for people. We was assigned a case manager and a couselor, becuase my husband have a few minor health problems. We explained our situation with our case manager, then she asked a lot of questions, and begin right then and there to help us. We told her we were getting behind in our rent, and on top of that the landlord wanted to go up on our rent. We been a tenant for 11 years, with the same landlord. She had us go through a budget counseling session and fill out some forms and then a consent form. She called our landlord on a conference call and begin to go over some of our concerns. After we all spoke with the landlord, he agreed to work out a one year rent modification plan with us. That means our normal rent is $1200.00. He is willing to accept $900.00 for rent and we pay our own gas and heat and electric. Because the gas and heat was included in our rent. So for one year, we will pay him $900.00 and pay our own gas and electric. After that my case manager assigned my husband to a counselor who he will see once a week. They put us on their food list and set up my husband for three job interviews. He was offered one job in Bayonne, NJ forklift driver. He will car pool with another man who lives in Newark, until my husband get back on his feet with his drivers license. My case manager calls once a week to check us on, and told me that the last thing she wants is that we become dependant on the government. I didn't understand this agency so well at first. But the amount of time and effort they put into helping people is outstanding. They give you a sense of pride and courage to go forward. Because, my husband did not want to go there at first becuase of pride. Now he is very happy I have made him go. I think this agency main thing is to prevent you from depending on the government and to take actions for your own life. Sometime we all need help one way or another, but they don;t want you to see the government as a life long solution. I was and am very pleased with their services.

Thank you Essex County Children Advocate Services for helping me, I will never forget. Wendy of E.O.

Thanks ECCAS

Thank you ECCAS for all your organization have done for me and my family. I normally don't write reviews. But, in this case. I have too. Like what the others said. This agency is good. Mrs. Blake and her team makes you feel so important, even when you don't. I really like my case manager who I know really care about my welfare. She wants me not to depend on the government, and learn to be more proactive in my life. They send me to RAC Corp for a job interview. So, I went. The women in Human Resources who interviewed me, immediately look at my referral and said. Oh, you're coming from ECCAS, and I said yes. The whole job interview went fine. The next day they called me back for a second interview, and I was hired on March 7th, 2011, making $12.00 a hour fulltime as a customer service rep.I like it. My case manager calls me often to check on my spending, because she don;t want me to over spend and then lose my apartment or nothing. Please tell everyone to pray for ECCAS because they are short on funds. However, that don't stop them from helping people. Oh, thanks ECCAS for the pampers. Thanks

Thank you, ECCAS. Lawanda from N. Munn Street of East Orange

Overall
This agency is on the money.

Just like the other people said. This agency is on the money. First of all. I am receiving government help. But I truely want to get off government assistment. So, a good friend of mines told me about this agency. So I called thinking they sound so small and I never heard about them, being a citizen of East Orange, I thought I knew of all of the agencies. They gave me an appointment on a Monday, and as soon as I entered I just knew this is the agency after all these years of other agencies help, this is going to be the one. I was right. I was there for two hours. It was worth it. They do ask a lot of questions and told me everything was confidential. I was assigned a case manager who will be working with me for a year. I then had to attend budget counseling, housing care, employment workshop and parenting workshop. By friday, my case manager called and ask for me to come back into the office. She had three job interviews set-up for me, and a low-income housing application. To make a long story short. I have been on my new job for 3 weeks now, and I'm moving into a two bedroom low-income complex on March 1, 2011. My case manager told me that she will still be working with me for a whole year. She calls me once a week, and I am to report to the agency atleast once a month. Thank you, thank you, thank you Essex County Children Advocate Services. I will NVER FORGET YOU. I am willing to voluteer on saturdays for Essex County Children Advocate Services. I just feel like I deserve to give back for all of what they done for me and my three year old son. I am telling everyone about this agency. Just tell them the truth and have patient and they will help you through. They really will. I LOVE YOU ESSEX COUNTY CHILDREN ADVOCATE SERVICES. GOD BLESS THIS AGENCY AND KEEP THEM IN BUSINESS FOR MANY YEARS. FROM Lori of Park Ave East Orange, NJ.

Thank you essex county children advocates

I want to tell everyone about this agency. Well when you first get there, everyone knows you're there and introduce themselfs to you. They makes you feel like you are someone who just fell on your luck. They do ask a lot of questions, but if you are really seeking help it won't borther you. Because you will leave when right now help. I been at a few agecy who refer me to another one then another one they all helped. But Essex County Children Advocates are the real deal. I getting lifeskill training from them. They help budget your money and then check on you once a month to see how you are spending and saving. They also put me on their food pantry becuase I only make 19,000.00 a year and my car insurance is high. My case manager said I do need to take a extra course at Essex County Community College. So I can stop being bypassed for promotions at my job that I have been with for over 3 years. I really like this company. Everyone in Essex County should go there if they are in trouble, no matter what they will assist you.

Awesome Organization.

There are so many organizations out there that hep people. But Essex County Children advocate company is out standing. I lost my apartment, my job and me and my three children was staying with a family member, and someone told me to call essex county children advocate services, maybe they can help you find a reasonable and affordable place to live. so i called. when i arrived there i couldn't beleive it was a agency because it looked like people live there.when i when inside i felt so comfortable, safe and i didn;t fel like i was be judge for my short coming and hardship. I was given a personal case manager who ask a whole lot of questions. at first i said to myself this is too much stuff they are asking. but i didn't relieve that every question was leading to services to help my and my children. Not only did they locate a place for me to live, they placed me on their food pantry list, helped me understand my two kids educational plan for school and they told me to come back to attend a workshop for the working poor. I have a job, but they wanted to help me learned the workforce demands and they told me in feburary to come back and et help on parenting. I left feeling important because they encourage to move forward and stop feeling sorry for myself. that;s all i have to say about this company. not so many people know about them because they don;t have so much money to help a lot of people,so they help you no matter what they wont turn you away. go there you will get real help.

thank you Essex county children advocates. god bless you company.
