This is the most unprofessional ignorant clinic to employ people that just want to tell you what their personal opinion is on how to live you and your dog's life. Their main concerns were what they thought should be done with our puppy and not his overall health. Lynda Bernstein missed the first shot she gave him and then had her assistant ( Tracy) help, who made joke of the situation. Not to mention who degraded the type of breed that he is. If there was a poo emoji it would be next to both there names. But Lisa who is also an assistant is outstanding and cared for our puppy for who he is. We don't belive in castration on our male puppy, which after we already discussed he would not be neutered, they continued to tell us we had to do it and sent us due dates for when it should be done.

Jessica Brooks heartlessly and unethically refused to treat our seizing dog on 12/27/15. Despite being the contracted on call emergency vet for the practice we use, she in stead directed us to a vet 60 miles away. We tried unsuccessfully at 1 a.m.to find a Durango vet and were left to watch our dog die after seizing for 3 hours from a potentially reversible condition or if fatal, Jessica Brooks could have provided relief of Dharma's suffering. Avoid Jessica Brooks and Riverview Animal Hospital for care of your beloved pets.

Jessica Brooks refused to treat our seizing dog on the night of 12/27/15, despite being contracted as the on call vet for the animal clinic we use. Ignoring our pleas for help she heartlessly and unethically directed us to vet practices 60 miles away. We tried other vets around Durango with no success. We were left to watch our seizing dog die 3 hours later from a potentially treatable condition. Avoid Riverview Animal Hospital and Jessica Brooks for any care of your beloved pets.

Veternarians at Riverview Animal Hospital were unable to diagnose Coccidiodomycosis or Valley Fever in our dog for over a year and a half. She died of a disease that is curable because they didn't have experience with the disease. It wasn't until one of the vets spoke to a vet who had moved here from Arizona that the idea of Valley Fever was brought up. Even then the vet we were seeing was reluctant to test for it. We insisted. She tested positive and we immediately put her on the antifungal medication that cures the disease if caught early enough. It was too late for our dog. Valley Fever is a fungal disease that animals and people get from breathing spores from the soil in the southwestern desert regions of the U.S. and in Mexico. It usually starts with a cough and goes to the lungs. If your pet (or you!) has an undiagnosable cough and you've been to these areas you might want to check for Valley Fever.
