I'm one of those crazy first time moms that's seen more than 15 licensed daycares. I have a strict checkoff list that's made it close to impossible to find the right daycare. After visiting Miss Dina's Daycare and checking everything off my list, and just having a down right good gut feeling about her school, I enrolled my 22 month old.
My daughter has been with Miss Dina for a little over a month now and I am so glad she had room for my baby!
Here's why I love Miss Dina's Daycare:
*Healthy, homemade food (Included in tuition): OMG, her home always smells amazing! I drool when I get close. All of the parents talk about her food! Miss Dina makes homemade soups and fun toddler foods with veggies... and she actually gets the kids to eat the veggies! Her meals are balanced with proteins, carbs, dairy, fruits and veggies. She's not into the sweets or fried fast foods. McDonald's is not a treat... it's a death wish. She knows when the kids eat right, they're more balanced and able to have fun, focus and play. She's all about starting kids out in life with healthy bodies and minds.
*Learning: Even though my daughter was not quite 2 when she started with Miss Dina, she has been allowed to sit in with the older kids at circle time and encouraged to learn, rather than sent away because she is too young.
*Creativity: You really have to take a tour of Miss Dina's daycare to hear about the incredibly creative projects she does with the kids. I don't want to give away any of her secrets. This was a huge seller for me because I wanted my daughter to be inspired by new creative and critical thinking projects.
*Toys and Fun: She's incredibly organized when it comes to rotating her toys. Some are rotated on a monthly basis and some weekly and daily. Everything looks clean and colorful, plus she has groups of toys dedicated to enhancing different learning and motor skills that are rotated regularly.
*Cleanliness: My daughter was in daycare before was sick with a new cold EVERY week, even during the summer months. She's been with Miss Dina for over a month and hasn't been sick once! She cleans the toys regularly with special cleansers and teaches the kids to wash their hands. BTW, she also potty trains.
*Schedule and Structure: The kids are on a schedule so that they have a certain amount of inside and outside time, story time, free play, art, learning, etc. The diapers, wipes, cubies- everything is labeled and organized! It's clean and organized, but doesn't have that sterile feeling.
*She's Nice :): I really liked Miss Dina the second I met her. I just got a good feeling. You can tell she loves what she does. She has a true sincerity about her, is honest, loving, fun, educated and certified. I went with Miss Dina mostly because she's the type of person that I want as a role model for my baby.
I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture. My daughter loves Miss Dina and talks about her and the other kids and teachers all the time. She actually runs to the door in the mornings!
