As parents we want the best for our children as they grow from infant to toddler to kindergartner and so on, but I also have the perspective that we are constantly learning as parents - how can we be better each day as parents because we've never done this parent thing before either. With that in mind, Montessori Children's Center and the women that lead and teach here, are helping us grow/improve as parents in addition to committing themselves to helping my daughter grow as a child. Our daughter is in her second year at MCC and our family loves this school and feel fortunate we found it. I regularly witness my daughter blow a kiss and brightly bid goodbye with an 'I love you' to the MCC teachers and her many friends. I recommend MCC to families seeking a preschool in the Sunset, West Portal, Noe Valley, Daly City, Ingleside, SF State, Park Merced area of the Bay. Beyond the Montessori approach for core learning, MCC is rooted in plenty of opportunity for play and social development. The program delivers a top notch offering of music, singing, dancing, cultural exchange, nature, gardening, imaginary play, cooking, arts & crafts, exposure to foreign languages and American Sign Language. As a parent, I never imagined I'd have the challenge of having to talk my daughter into enjoying a 'summer vacation' instead of crying because she wasn't going to school for a few months this summer, but that's what we experienced (*MCC does offer a summer program for families seeking 12-months of continuous preschool). In addition to our daughter's love for MCC, I've enjoyed my interaction with other MCC families, a diverse group of dedicated parents. Several of the parents were students of MCC founder/current director Judith Flynn and now are experiencing their own kids attending the school. The school leadership is dedicated to the children they serve, the community and again the parents -- they issue a monthly newsletter, organize parent/child evenings, parent only sessions with guest speakers and informative topics, special events (holiday performances and celebrations, visits from the symphony, zoo mobile etc.), picture day, parent conferences and office hours. They have an extensive library of books open to families. They offer opportunities for families to participate in cultural/ethnic exchange which has been amazing. I can't say enough about Montessori Children's Center and I look forward to my daughter's remaining several years at the school as well as sending my younger daughter next year when she turns two. *Opinions are my own.

Auntie Hong and the aunties are simply... AMAZING! Words alone can't begin to thank her and the aunties for all 21 months of love and care they have given our son and our family. While I was pregnant, I visited maybe 10 in-home daycares and my initial gut feeling said to take the spot here and it was the BEST choice we've made! Hong was so warm and welcoming from the beginning. When we visited, all the kids were climbing all over her and smiling/laughing the whole time. Place was bright and clean with lots of fun toys, there was an outdoor space for kids to run around, homemade meals & snacks were healthy, and hours and flexibility were awesome for 2 working parents. Communication was done via email before we started and they would always get back to me within a couple of hours. Even though my commute doubled, I had no regrets choosing Hong's. We were honestly so blessed to have found her. Yes, kids play rough sometimes and you'll see some scratches once in a while. Kids get sick sometimes despite the fact that Hong and the aunties clean EVERYTHING (i really mean everything! my son watches them clean so much, he would start wiping things down at home). If anything is out of the norm, Hong will tell you during pick up (behavior changes, eating and napping habits, poop/pee). If your child gets sick, she will text you right away. You can also request to receive a daily log of your child's naps, diapers, meals, etc which was helpful when our son was younger. She would text photos and videos to parents throughout the day to put a smile on our faces =) We feel like Hong, the aunties and her family have become a part of our family. Our son absolutely loves and adores her and the aunties. They have become his second/third mommies and will always be for the rest of his life. Unfortunately, we just left her care to attend to preschool, but we will always remember her kindness and we will miss her and the aunties terribly. I'm sure you'll love Hong's as much as we do!!
My son has been going to Hong's Family daycare since December 2013. I can not ask for a better daycare for my son. Hong and Tina really care for the kids as if they were their own. She is also very attentive to my son's every need. When she realized that my son was refusing milk and not having enough calcium, she asked me what kind of dairy products he likes to eat. The next week, she provided the yogurt and string cheese. I thought that was very accommodating to my son because she is tailoring their meals according to their habits. That shows me she is really cares for every child and is not just providing generic meals to every child and not caring if they eat or not. Hong also provides stimulating activities and Mandarin lessons during the day. My son's vocabulary continues to increase and surprises me with phrases he has learned. My son is only 19 months and she has started potty training him and is able to tell me if he needs to go. That has been extremely helpful to me so I can just continue his training during the weekends. She is also very good about letting me know how he is during the day. Sometimes she send me some videos and pictures of them. My son also loves Hong and Tina and immediately goes to them when I drop him off and sometimes doesn't want to leave when i pick him up. Hong is also very flexible with pick up and drop off times if you let her know in advance. She always made me feel very comfortable leaving my son with her since the very beginning. I am confident that he is safe, well-taken care of, loved, and is stimulated with her activities everyday. I highly recommend Hong for childcare.
