I was traveling in Portland from San Diego where I normally train Jiu-Jitsu and was hoping to find a local place to get away from the in-laws for a few minutes. I met Bill on the phone and he was very happy to let me stop by to train. I took two classes, one with Bill and one with Marcos. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the training controlled and helpful (not the testosterone fueled anarchy that I have seen in some schools). The lessons were quite good with solid technique along with proper warm-ups, drills and correction. The students were well trained, focused, and fought hard. The facility was very well set up, clean and included Sauna and showers. I particularly like the mats as they were moderately slick and nice to land on due to the plywood backing. The hours they are open and the classes they offer are ridiculously numerous. I had a great experience and would definitely recommend this school to anyone looking to train.
