I was visiting San Francisco and opted to stay at Imperial Inn because it's 0.26 miles away from BART Macarthur Station. The rate was cheap, and there was no free breakfast, BUT there was many positive things about our stay that I wanted to share: The room was very clean without foul odor (I booked non-smoking), the decor and furniture were nice, each room has a mini fridge and microwave, free wifi, courtyard with water fountain, and comfortable beds. I had no trouble with the heater/ac unit, and hot water worked as expected. I didn't like the shower head, it had multiple water sprays but only one worked. No bugs or yucky surprises. For the price, it was pretty nice.

It's not a full srevice 5 star hotel, but the location was great. It has almost everything you need, from fridge, microwave, iron & board, free internet to shuttle to the airport. It's high recommended to stay in the Waterside. The view is much better. Compared to the branded hotel I always stay, this is a very competitable price with great amenities hotel. J. I had a very nice stay at the Clarion in downtown Oakland a couple of weeks ago. Both the hotel itself and the staff who assisted me were superior, and made me feel welcomed and valued. I intend to stay here again on my next visit. A special shout-out to Day Manager Lisa, whose lovely smile and kind words brightened my morning. Thanks again, Clarion Oakland!
