Professionalism

I can't say enough great things about In Motion, they are caring, kind, professional, and really know what they are doing. I had rotator cuff surgery back in May, and thanks to Kristy (one of the owners), I know have full mobility. I know other people that went other places, and don't have nearly the mobility that I have. The staff is so friendly, and the facility is immaculate. They're the BEST!

Worst Physical Therapy Experience

My therapist was the owner of the practice. He way overbooks patients and leaves you waiting for long periods. When he finally returns there's no apology. My injury hasn't improved and the customer service is the worst in the area so I'm going to look elsewhere for a therapist who cares!

General Surgery
Pre and post surgical rehabilitation includes physical therapy for a wide range of surgical procedures. This ranges from the orthopedic procedures to general surgery. Physical therapy can be indicated when there is a change in physical status or limitations in function.
Orthopedics
The clinical environment is a fertile ground for the exchange of ideas and philosophies. We have a large support staff of aides and front office staff to support the therapists. We use a web based EMR utilizing an issued iPad to automate documentation and billing. We see a variety of diagnosis’ including orthopedics, gait/balance, vestibular, concussion for the pediatric to geriatric population. We also treat a variety of sports-related injuries as well as pre and post surgical treatment. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and benefits include medical, dental and vision benefits as well as Continuing Education budget, Paid Time Off (PTO) for vacation and holidays, APTA dues and a retirement plan. The clinic is open Monday thru Friday and includes some evenings until 7 pm.

The McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) is a reliable assessment process intended for all musculoskeletal problems, including pain in the back, neck and extremities, as well as issues associated with sciatica, sacroiliac joint pain, arthritis, degenerative disc disease, muscle spasms and intermittent numbness in hands or feet.

I would like to talk about Achilles Tendinopathy, a painful condition in the affecting the Achilles’ tendon and heel, characterized by overuse followed by breakdown of the tendon. Achilles Tendinopathy is very common amongst athletes, runners, as well as more sedentary individuals. Patients with this diagnosis experience pain along the Achilles or heel, pain when first walking, particularly after not moving for longer periods of time. The stiffness and pain may decrease with movement, then slowly increases again after activity continues. The longer these symptoms last, the more painful, the more impactful, and the more difficult to treat they become. Physical therapists have multiple tools to treat this disease process, including exercise, manual therapy, as well as consultation for splinting and proper shoes. Plantar Fasciitis
Hello, my name is Kyle Wagner and I am a physical therapist at In Motion Physical Therapy in Downingtown, PA. I would like to talk about Plantar Fasciitis, a painful condition in the affecting the tissue covering the heel and foot. Plantar fasciitis is a diagnosed used commonly to explain pain to the heel and bottom of foot, more often on the middle side. Patients commonly complain of this pain worst when first walking after sitting or sleeping, or when pulling toes upwards. This pain is often noticed after recent increases in activity such as standing, walking, or running. This pain may also cause a limp which may or may not improve as walking continues. Plantar fasciitis is most commonly treated without surgery. Physical therapists have been shown to help treating this pain and improve daily activities with a combination of strengthening, stretching, manual therapy, as well as use of different types of splinting, bracing, taping, and adjusting shoe ware.
