Pediatric Care
Deborah Simmons has been employed as an Occupational Therapist for 33 years. She received her Associates of Science in Occupational Therapy from Mount Aloysius College in 1983. She started her career immediately upon graduation in the Colonial School District as a COTA. Deborah then returned to college and graduated in 1993 from Misericordia University with a BS in Occupational Therapy. She received her SIPT Certification in 2008 from Sensory Integration International/The Ayres Clinic in Torrance CA. She has worked in a variety of settings over the course of her career including Long Term Care, Mental Health, Outpatient Hand Therapy, Acute Care, Home Health Care, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Ergonomics and Pediatrics. She is a current member of the DOTA. She has served as President of the Delaware Occupational Therapy Association for 2 terms and on a 2 year AOTA Task Force in Bethesda Maryland as a State Association President. Deborah is so proud to be the Co-owner of the Jungle Gym and is so blessed to be working with the pediatric population. She has worked as an Adjunct Professor at Delaware Technical and Community College in Georgetown where she taught Pediatric Conditions and Psychosocial Conditions for 6 years. She has 2 sons and resides in Middletown Delaware. When she is not working she loves to travel, community theater, spending time with her family, the beach and participating in paranormal investigations with DSGI.
