I am reading these reviews and I have to agree with Keaton B. My husband and I went in because we needed to put together a sound system for our small church. We had a mixer board and a speaker we had purchased elsewhere (mixer from ebay and speaker from Art's music store) which we could not get to work. The owner took at least an hour with us. He hooked our speaker up to the mixer and the microphones we had and we, only with his help discovered the mixer was defective. We were more than happy to purchase a mixer from Mike and additional mics. He explained everything to me and my husband so that we could hook up and operate the system. He threw in the connection cords we needed at no cost. We will go there for our every musical need from now on.
I also want to say, this is the first review I have ever done. I often look at reviews; but have never written one. However when I saw what Jen K and leishahall had posted, I had to do this review because my experience was totally different.
The owner is beyond RUDE! My husband and I went to look at a particular guitar he was interested in buying. They did not have the one in stock that he wanted but had one of the new designs. He picked it up to look at it after about 15 seconds put it back down. I also looked at a tiny pink guitar that I thought about buying my daughter. We were walking around looking at other instruments (I want to add that my husband was not playing them and there are no amps for you to hook into anyway). My husband picked up an acoustic guitar and the owner walks by (in front of a customer) and said "Don't come in here and start picking up all my stuff". We were in shock and for a moment I thought I heard him wrong. He then went on to make a comment about he could look at stuff but not come in and try to throw a party. I swear part of me thought he was losing it because the comments he said made no sense. I swear as we were walking out he made some comment that ended with "make my day". Seriously?...What the hell? What really angered me is that we have done business here several times but never again. I won't step foot in there again and I don't see how he will continue to thrive if this is how he treats his customers. I am not sure what happened to cause him to act this way but there is no excuse for him to talk to people this way.
These people are crazy, I buy everything at Mikes and he always gives me a deal. Yesterday I bought a Guitar and he threw in a Gator Case that cost 120 bucks just as a gift. I have bought a mapex kit from him as well and he always gives fair prices. If you hassle him he's not gona be friendly. He is a northerner and he dont take crap off of big mouth people, thats not who he is. He's become a great friend of mine, and he's a awesome man of God.
I spoke to the wife of the owner of the company. She needed to hire a new sales person. As she explained to me her reason for not getting back to me for four months, after filling out the application.I remembered her lazy spoiled white female bit. It started to dawn on me. She not only gets away with being lazy, she admits it. Don't trust a company that doesn't hustle to compete.
A totally typical white female. She barely works, her husband lets her get away with anything. Shes never worked a days honest work in her life.
A couple of days ago, my teenage son went in to Mike's Music Shop to sell a guitar, but instead, came home with a different guitar as an even trade. After thinking about it for a couple of days, I started to wonder about it and stopped in today to ask a couple of questions about this trade. After explaining to the owner that I was a mom of a teenager and just had a few questions about this trade, he quickly began to tell me that it was pretty much an "apples to apples" even trade and that he got a "good guitar". When I asked another question about it he quickly grabbed a business card, scribbled some info on the back, shoved it at me, said thank you and rudely dismissed me by walking away and sitting down behind the counter. When I asked him why he rudely walked away, he said he had answered my questions and what more did I want? The conversation escalated to the point that he asked me to leave, and said that he was busy (there was not one customer in the store at that time). The owner was hateful and rude, and I will NEVER go back!! Why the one star?? Because the definition of one star = HATED IT!!
