When I was young my dad would could ribs regularly during summer months. In winter he worked hard and brought ribs home. They became one of my favorite foods. This was in the early eighties. We lived in Detroit then. As I grew into my preteen years my parents split. We moved to the downriver area with my mother. dad stayed in Detroit. He still cooked in summer. I found the source of the carry out ribs one night on the way to stay with him for the weekend. He exited the freeway and went to Vicki's. He was very particular about his ribs as he used to have a barbeque restaraunt of his own. He tried alot of places but Vicki's was always his favorite. Its been 14 years now since dad has passed and Vicki's is the only place that tastes anything near what he used to cook for us. I have been eating there since I was a child and will continue as long as possible. Theres alot of rib joints in Detroit, but only one worth the trip from Monroe. I am not sure how long this place has been there, but I have been a customer for at least 21 years. R. Porter
I love their ribs and chicken. We go their about once a week and the drive is about 10 miles but its always worth it. Lydia always cut my ribs so when I get home I can start eating without having to cut up my food before I eat. My food is always excellent. Vickie's your food is great! Keep up the good work. The restaurant is always clean and my orders are always right. I love the food here. In my opinion, you are one of Detroit' finest barbeque carryout restaurants. Must try!
My man and I had the pleasure of dining here on 10/31/2015 and it was great. Q was our server we ordered the Lamb as an appetizer and it was excellent. I ordered the grilled salmon and he had the seafood mac/cheese and we were both pleased with our meal. I pray for the success of this business as we need more like it in the city of Detroit. I will be taking it to the Bridge again soon. :>) L.R.
