I've been eating at this Brightmoore favorite for 0ver 45 years. This is not just a place to come and enjoy an excellent lunch or dinner. This place is the rock of an otherwise deteriorating neighborhood. Harry the current owner and employee for about 46 years is a true saint. He helps out people in the neighborhood by putting roofs, porches or anything the less fortunate may need. Hell if a stray dog or cat comes around Scotty's it will leave with a full stomach. This is just part of ...view morethe real story of Scotty's and their people.view lessProvided by Citysearch
The fish and chips are excellent! Deep fried, crispy, not greasy. I've tried the shrimp and smelt too, but think the fish and chips are the best thing on the menu! The neighborhood can be a bit dodgy, but I've never had any problems and there is usually somebody guarding the parking area on Friday night.view less

And the apple pie tastes like apples: not sugar, not ...view morecinnamon, but apples. Novel concept--food that actually tastes like what it's made of.
No pretension, artifice, or celebrity chefs here. Just perfectly-cooked food, served in an atmosphere that encourages conversation between tables.
