Part 1 WARNING! DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I was sooooo excited about finally moving. Looking for professionals with a good price I called several companies and fell into the trap of Flat Rate Movers. A nice talking gentleman sold me on why there company is the best, told me they would charge $99. for the first hr and then $28.50 for every 1/2 hr. Deal, a rep came to look at the things to be moved took the $60 deposit. I explained 3 times that I wanted to put part of my...view more things in storage and the rest would go to the new place, "No problem Darnell said" we had everything packed and ready to go and then when the workers (Crackheads) literally! Dirty clothes, smelled badly, stunk up the bathroom, and the entire house! Part 2 Looking pass that I noticed they were twins. One of them gave me the phone and it was Darnell and he was fussing about making two stops and I said uh? Remember I told you that we needed two stops he turned from (Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde) and to my surprise it wasn't in the contract so that was an extra $25. Okay whatever I'll pay it, then some things needed to be taken apart to move between the doors and this "professional" company had no tools! smh no problem we have tools, okay then we are loaded and ready to go and get to the end of the block and they have pulled over, what now?
Part 3We can't find the contract and Darnell the professional con artist is now yelling at me about his drivers can't drive without the contract I'm like I don't know what happened to it! It's not in my purse they tell us that they are not driving until it is found so now my husband gets on the phone and he and Darnell are arguing so now my family is upset because we drive back to the house we left after 17 years to look in the garbage, looking in the cars, boxes, etc. We still didn't find it then they decided to go ahead and take us.
Part4 Okay then the movers pulled over again and when we asked what now? They were about to run out of gas WHAAAT!!!!!! So we stop and a gas station and now Darnell is saying he is going to take 30 min off over the phone. So we get to the first stop which is the storage and guess what the contract is sitting right on top of one of the opened boxes which they packed up on the truck. But before they would take the few items off I had to pay them $400.00 Wow!
Part 5 My husband is furious and we're thinking it'll be over soon....yeah right! We get to our new gated community and we noticed that they tried to milk us for every dime we had. Note we had given them $60. dp $25. extra stop, they are about to run out of gas, $400. at storage. We are waiting for them to start unloading and one of them is on the phone with Darnell talking, so my husband is ready to fight then they tell us we owe them another $500 before they take the stuff off the truck WTF!!!!
Part6 Darnell tells me I am being charged for 10 hrs and I said your math is wrong they haven't been working for 10hrs he says how so and when I told him everything he still was trying to accuse us of trying not to pay.. he had the nerve to make a statement " when people move to nice areas they don't want to pay because they want to spend money on their new house" I was mortified at this (con-artist)!
Part 7We were arguing back and forth by this time my husband was ready to hurt someone so for the sake of my children who were saddened, we came up with another amount and I went to the bank to get some more cash. Then Darnell tells me over the phone that my boys better get some muscles because they are going to help move the furniture off the truck because he told his workers not to bring anything in and leave it all in the GARAGE!!!!

If you want the absolute worse...

If you want the absolute worse moving experience that you could ever imagine, then this is the company for you!! I called the company, looking to support a black owned business, and talked to an individual who reeled me in with lies. He talked about how they just charge a low half hour rate and don't nickel and dime you like most companies, and how their goal is to save you money. So, I hired the company to move my Mom from one apartment to a different apartment, in the same complex. ...view moreThe apartments are approximately 200 yards apart. The movers called my phone and told me that they were on thier way about 9:45am. They called me and told me that they were at the front gate of the complex at 10:20am. They arrived at my Mom's and I told her to go ahead and sign the contract since I was at work. I was thinking, what can go wrong since the gentlemen so eloquiently explained to me "ALL" the details of the move over the phone. When I got to the apartment around noon, I took a look at the contract. On the contract were individual charges for EVERY item except boxes. They charged extra to move literally EVERYTHING!! They even charge for shrinkwrap. I had over $350 in additional charges on the contract. Wait that's just the beginning! I left and came back and the movers had finally had the truck loaded. They drove the truck the 200 yards to the other apartment and said they needed to be paid before they unloaded the truck. I asked them how much was owed. The bill was $985 (for a one bedroom apartment). I analyzed the bill and I will just tell you the most outlandish part. They had 8 hrs of moving on the bill. They started at 10am and it was just now a little after 2pm. I asked where did the eight hours come from, and the mover said it's going to take us that long to get back to the office. (it took them around 30 minutes to get their in rush hr, but now it's going to take them 2 hours and 45 minutes to get back to the office?) Then we proceded to walk back, (yes I said walk) to the first apartment and it still has items left in it. I asked what are you guys doing with this, he said "The (little) truck was full and if we come and get this stuff you are going to have to pay another trip fee" " I can make sure it gets moved though if you just give me $80" A trip fee to go 200 yards?~and why can't your truck move a one bedroom apt with one trip anyway? What the heck? I was in a hurry and late for a meeting so I just gave him the $80 to finish the move and I left. I went back over there that evening and he basically stole my money becaue he didn't move the other items.
My mother was calling me complainting about the movers the entire time of the move. I thought she was over reacting but this time she wasn't. One of the movers was a nice gentleman, the other (the one that was in charge)was a complete buthole and cursed too much. He was the lead lier. I am in real estate, and deal with movers all the time. This company by FAR, is the absolute WORSE!!

After dealing with 3 other mov...

After dealing with 3 other moving companies this is by far the WORSE!!!!!!! Yea the guy Darnell which is the owner or manager whoever he is talks sooooo professional saying stuff like he 'll give us a good rate 99 for the first hr that included gas and travel then 28.50 for every half hr. They send out a field rep to my house to look at my stuff and had me put down a nonrefundable deposit of 60 and gave me some paper work without even going over it before i made the deposit. since I wa...view mores going by what DARNELL said as far as prices go I didnt bother to look at the papers. I only had to move my couches a frige, marble table , two tv stands, tv , and brake down a queen bed and crib. They sent 2 HOODLUMS and with the help of my fiance they got all the stuff on the truck in a hr and then one of the hoodlu told my fiance that they had to hurry up and unload once we got there with his help! Some funny business was going on and We figured they were trying to rip off Darnell at the end. It took 20 minutes to get to my new house and an hr to set up. When they pulled up to my new house it took them 15 minutes to get out and gave me a bill for 326 and said they were stopping the clock! Mind u I gave a 60 dollar deposit. Sorry bastards told me they started the time when they left their yard REALLY! Who does that?! I called that sorry Darnell and told him what was going on and he told me he was going to lower the price and it got down to 296. Which still didnt add up. I was so overwhelmed and pissed Darnell never mentioned about hidden taxes and fees that were in the small print that the sorry field rep gave me. If it was for my fiance just telling me to forget it pay the difference I would ve ripped a new one on them. And to top it off I had a missing screw in my bed. I told Darnell I had a terrible experience and he didnt say nothing. But its okay I ll just blast them on every site I can so they wont get another dime. NEVER AGAINview less
