I drove past this spot while I was in Detroit on business and decided to grab a quick bite. Well after eating a rib snack (which was delicious) I ended up going there every night for the next 4 days! The chicken was delicious crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. When I asked the owner, Betty Curry, how she got the chicken so crispy she said it was a special cooking technique. Well whatever it is it's working. The next night I tried the beef ribs, superb, tender, falling of the bone good. The side dishes were excellent as well, my favorite was the cabbage and yams. And the homemade rolls - PHEW DA BOMB! Oh did I mention desert? Well she has a pound cake that is just like my mother used to make and a sweet potato delight that is a cross between a sweet potato pie and cheesecake. Needless to say when I got back home to Maryland I had to hit the gym hard. Excellent comfort food for a cold Michigan night!
Hello, I enjoy the Four Cheese Mac. Sometimes I stop in just for a cup of Mac & Cheese it that good for cheese lovers. It's made from real cheese not cheese sauce, thank god! The wings are delicious too. I like the Garlic & Parmesan wings and organic green beans w/turkey! I'm trying the grilled chicken sandwich today. My husband love the Hot wings but the KO is to much for him, wow! They have 16 flavors of wings, WOW!
The Ribs were good, and they have a nice selection of different fish; but the cole slaw is off the hook ! I love cole slaw and not many places have anything good. When I tasted theirs, I said "this is the best cole slaw I've ever eaten ! The sweet potato surprise which is like sweet potato cheese cake is so sinful and good.
