General Info:
Mile High Mutts is a small business whose only concern is quality pet care. Our goal of superior customer service and satisfaction will take dedication on the part of all staff members and vendors. The vision manifests itself in three ways: Our keys to success will be providing high quality day care and overnight kenneling, competitive pricing, and excellent customer service. We are a fully insured facility and we have a relationship with Dr. Amy Rupp Urban Vet Care if a problem were to arise. We adhere to strict cleaning and deodorizing standards to make the stay here pleasant and safe for the dogs as well as the owners. Cristal and Marcus Newell and their Great Dane named Oberon (pictured left ) are the cofounders of Mile High Mutts and have a long history in the pet industry. A graduate of the Virginia Tech University, Cristal has a bachelor's degree in Equine Science and a bachelors in Business from the University of Phoenix. Cristal has worked in various veterinarian offices as well as held an internship at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. She has competed in local and national horse events and has had a serious love of animals all her life. Marcus Newell is a graduate of Loyola University with a degree in History and Northeastern State Illinois University with a degree in English Literature. His work with children has been very helpful because, as we all know, dogs are just like kids.Cristal and Marcus are married and consider themselves a "mom and pop shop". In addition to their Great Dane Oberon they have 2 young sons Liam and Tristan. They hope to offer exceptional care and courtesy to all customers. Karen - Karen is our manager and has been with us for years. When she's not busy with the dogs she's busy with her little girl Jade! She has great understanding of dog and pack behavior and can help with any question you might have. She enjoys traveling and doing new things, roller skating being the newest. Her dog Mona is a crazy player who loves the ball. Todd - Todd comes from a doggie background and has been with us for years. He worked for various grooming shops and can never seem to get away from wanting to work with the dogs. He is the jack of all trades-cleaning, grooming, dog handling-you name it and he can do it!! His little chihuahua Lady Bug loves to come to work with him. Jessica W. - Jessica is one of our assistant managers. She is fascinated with dog behavior and has switched her major from Computer Science in Engineering to Veterinary Medicine but still helps us with "computer problems". She believes in providing great customer service and superior care for the dogs. Alison - Alison is one of our assistant managers. She is going to nursing school because helping people is at the core of her nature. She has a husky and a basset hound mix. She enjoys volunteer work and has experience in grooming. Tim - Tim hails from Mississippi and has been with us for years. He has his bachelors in English, worked with us through completing his Masters of Fine Arts in Writing and is currently working on his Doctorate in Religious Studies. He has two dogs, Jaxx and Bud and they looooooove what Daddy does for a living. Tracee - She is attending Metro State for marketing and when she's not in class she's hanging out with the dogs. Tracee is part of the Pomona Leadership Council, the FCCLA and DECCA and is very active with her groups! She loves being the one to put the dogs to bed every evening. Steph B - Steph is thinking of going to school and works afternoons at the daycare. She has a Puggle, a weiner/puggle mix and a Bull Mastiff! The best of all worlds. Her interests range from Body Art to dog parks and everything in between. Kita - Kita has a degree from the Art Institute in Graphic Design and she is a freelance designer. Her dog Odin has a blast playing and she loves bringing him to work with her. She can manipulate every program i

Success! Thanks for posting your review of Mile High Mutts. You’ve done the world some good today.

I ve got a routine down now for my visit to Mile High Mutts. My pup Saddie knows what her days will be like when spending time at the doggy day and she s always excited to go. As we drive toward the daycare, she gets pretty worked up…tail a wagging. I always do a little shopping for her at Mile High Mutts, picking up pig s ears or dog cookies, and that s something she s come to expect too. It s convenient to be able ... view more

I'm a fan of Mile High Mutts. I've took my golden retriever to Mile High Mutts for years and learned the importance of structure in a dog's life. I still laugh about the day I showed up after 9 a.m. and was told that Max was too late for school. I asked, “What, did he miss math class?” The expert at Mile High Mutts explained that dogs, like people, tee up their hierarchy every morning. When a dog comes in late it ups... view more

When I first took my sheepdog to Mile High Mutts it was because I was working incredibly long hours on a project. I was getting home after 9 at night, leaving by 7 a.m. I knew she’d be safer at daycare than left home to her own devices. What I wasn’t counting on was that my dog would make friends. It’s hilarious really. My French Bulldog has made friends with other two other dogs (same breed). The staff at Mile High ... view more

I've been a client/customer for almost 7 years and I COMPLETELY TRUST Mile High Mutts with my baby. I've been bringing my dogs to MHM since 9/2006 when I moved to Denver, first to their old location on Larimer, then to Park Hill where they had a small, second location, and now to the nice big space on Chestnut, and truly love this place! I don't know what I'd do without them, and more importantly, my dogs LOVE going!... view more

From a dog owner and a custome...

From a dog owner and a customers viewpoint, I cannot possibly understand any negative review for MHM. The facilities are vast and the Dogs come first. The owner does a great job of hiring genuine Dog lovers who visibly care about their job and their daily visitors. MHM is local versus a national chain, it's friendly and its a safe fun place for our lovable handful of a Dog. They don't zap all her energy, but then nei... view more

Will Never Go Again

My dog has been going to daycare and boarding facilities since she was a puppy. Each time I have picked her up I have ALWAYS received compliments on how sweet she was. However, upon picking up my dog, I was told she snipped at a handler and at other dogs. She has be around infants, small children and numerous dogs and this has never happened. When I asked for details of what occurred I was told ""well these are just ... view more

Huge place

I work downtown 2 days a week and have finally found a great place to leave my dogs on those 2 days. Mile High Mutts is really cool. The facility is absolutely huge and really easy to get to. They have webcams that actually show the dogs and arent all pixilaed and slow like most I've seen. The staff seems very experienced and they knew my labs names after only 1 visit. I also love that they have the option of overnig... view more
