Periodontal Surgery
Patients should expect to spend two, two-hour visits, for a complete full-mouth LANAP periodontal surgery. During the first visit we will focus on one side of the mouth, and then a week later we will finish the procedure by completing the other half. Many of our patients enjoy a quick recovery time.
Deep Cleaning
Improved gum health – Soft tissue grafting can help stop bone and tissue loss while protecting exposed roots. The best results are seen when done in combination with deep cleaning procedures.

Full-arch replacement is done when either all or most, of the upper or lower teeth, will be replaced. Patients can opt for an implant-supported denture that connects to for posts.

Dental Implants
A dentist who specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease is known as a periodontist. These specialists focus their attention on the soft tissues of the mouth, along with the jawbone. To obtain a certificate in periodontics, you must complete a three-year periodontal residency program after graduating from an accredited dental school. During the three-year program, residents will be trained in how to place dental implants, along with surgical and non-surgical treatment plans for periodontal disease.

Oral and maxillofacial surgery is an internationally recognized surgical specialty. An oral and maxillofacial surgeon can diagnose, treat, and perform surgery to correct issues within the soft and hard oral tissues along with the face, head, jaws, and neck. While most dentists can perform common procedures, such as simple extractions, you may be referred to an oral and maxillofacial surgeon for more complex treatments and procedures. Dr. Gurinsky can perform most surgeries within his office, allowing our patients to be comfortable in a familiar environment.
Osseous Surgery
Osseous surgery is a procedure that is used to remove damaged bone that surrounds a tooth. It can also be used to recontour the bone surrounding a tooth as well. There are a few reasons this procedure may be used, but the primary reason is to treat severe cases of periodontal disease. It removes the bacteria deposits and eliminates damaged bone so the body can create new bone tissue to aid in repairing the jaw.

Bone Grafting
Dr. Gurinsky continues to be inspired by the ever-changing technology within dentistry. He is a published researcher and his findings can be found in numerous papers and presentations. Some of his past research has included looking at dental implants in smokers (sponsored by Astra Tech) and enamel matrix derivative in grafting periodontal defects. He is currently researching using the human umbilical cord and amniotic tissue for hard and soft tissue grating. Dr. Gurinsky is also on the editorial advisory board for two dental journals, along with being a product evaluator. He lectures throughout the United States and Canada and teaches courses on bone grafting and soft tissue grafting.
