What slaughterhouse! I've worked in Bellvue Hosp in NY and I thought that was bad but I've never seen so many incompetent people in one place. And they're rude about it. From EMTs to exit it's a bad experience. You're not there for help but to fund the hospital. Don't know how they can associate that place with health.

Denver acute

I recently went to denver acute for eating disorders they are good as far as their medical stabilization but the nurses take forever to get anything done and one women who works at the front desk is a total slob if you are not planning on going to the erc Do Not come here they will try everything they can to get you to go there and when I refused to go to the put a 72 hour hold on me so I didn't have a choice. The psychiatrist is a total wench who has no concept of keeping an open mind it is her way or the highway the cnas are the only good part they're usually always pleasant and willing to help you with what you need. Overall good medically but terrible if your looking to go any where else but the erc.

My 19 yr old child was brought here after having a seizure, she was judged and treated like a drug addict. They would not speak to me because she was an adult, and was spinal tapped without anyone's permission. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone. When I tried to speak to them about the situation they were rude and blamed us and completely

misdiagnosed the cause of seizure.

Go National Jewish

If you get hit by a Denver Health ambulance in the Denver Health parking lot, have them bring you to National Jewish... you will be so much better off. Denver Health sucks, im sorry, I try to be nice but honestly this place is awful. If you have an orthopedic issue, your local mailman has about as much knowledge as their clinic drs do... honestly I, myself, am in the medical field, and everyday regret the day i went into this facility for a severe injury. It is the embodiment of everything wrong with today's medical field. Diane Botton(sp?) and Kat(from patient affairs) are the only 2 shining points in an otherwise dull and fruitless tree.

slow killers

denver health is not a place to go if you are seeking a good care. the only people that get treated fairly are the employees. They have their own clinic, their own nurse line, their own window at the pharmacy wich I think is discrimination. When you go to your regular appt, excpect to wait at least 2 hours past your appointment time. The wait time at the emergency room or walking clinic is even worse.

The Gun and Knife club SAVED MY LIFE, and many others....

Okay, the Denver Health Medical Center, also nick-named as the ""Gun and Knife Club"", has earned its name;unless you're on the brink of death, or TRULY have a medical emergency, use a different ""urgent clinic"" etc. I certainly didn't think it was for me, I was a snoddy 38 year old yuppie when I arrived at ""The Gun and Knife Club""/MASH?Let's just say that you're innocently crossing Wash Park; I wasn't watching my back as I left the Pub. I was assaulted from behind, by a complete stranger!! He beat me into oblivion, r__ed, strangled, robbed and left me for dead. The following day I contracted what's known as the ""flesh eating disease"", or Strep ""Group A-invasive"", rare-and lethal. Still ""snoody"", YET in the condition I was in, I also knew THIS was the place to be!!!! The disease spread quickly ( you catch it from dirt/sand, and other means), carries aprox: 70% morbidity rate in 72 hrs.....or so I was told/read) the staff was right on it, I was in surgery in ""no-time"", when I had survived, only to find out that I pretty much didn't make it, and it was a miracle, I finally broke down in tears, realizing that an outstanding team of medical students, along with their mentors, had saved my life!! -highly unlikely if I had arrived at my ""private insurance hospital"". I will admit that these people are heroes, but they're NOT in charge of room service, or the homeless that sometimes ask if they can take a shower in your room etc, never mind changing bed tray's on my 79 yr old roomate, since once you survive, service IS NOT the emphasis, the janitorial service is lazy/unsanitary, etc. It was frustrating waiting for my ""closing"" surgeries. Many others, ""triage""-including police officers, firemen, were on the do or die list-(they didn't argue),you get ""bumped"" off the surgery schedule for days as more casulties are choppered, driven or simply carried in. I wouldn't trade it for the world. I owe them my life!! Don't go there if you have a runny nose, or the flu, OK?Best wishes
