I heard of this place through one of the deal sites - since I have a golden retriver who loves water, I thought, why not take him for a swim. We do have a doggie pool/rec center closer to the house, but I am always opened to exploring new places.
Well, I wish i did not attempt to ""explore"" this one. Maybe the rec center closer to home, which is nice, clean and staffed with friendly people spoiled me, I don't know, but I truly believe that cleanliness and friendly staff should be the norm.
Outside of the Center is, as previously stated, bare asphalt - no shade, no grass, nothing. OK, no big deal. However, coming through the door is a first shock - loud noise (some sort of a fan or AC) and filthy floors. The waiting room is no better - some chairs that I would not sit on if someone paid me, and some merchandise (outfits, treats). The front desk was empty and there is a small machine and a sign stating to press the call button ONLY ONCE - god forbid someone may push it twice and disturb the staff. The lady who came after the ominous button was pressed (only once!) was everything but friendly - no smile, no greeting - I gave her the necessary forms and she started to study them for what seemed like forever. All this time some poor pooch was barking its little heart out - noone seemed to care (another staffed member was walking by totally oblivious). The pool displayed on the screen beside the desk seemed to be good size but when I saw it, it looked nasty. I turned around and went home - my dog can swim elsewhere. I do not want to sound too uppity, and I know it may not be easy to clean a place that caters to animals, but as far as I am concerned, the Canine Fitness and Fun center is not going to se me again. One start is too much for it (but there is no zero stars choice)
