Bad

I called this place hoping that it would save a dog from abuse but you guys failed. I trusted you guys and you let me down. Everyday I look out my bedroom window and just feel sad. The abusing people have bought yet another dog and the previous one is dead. The people started abusing the new little dog and I feel so heart broken for him. That he will end up just like the other dog. =(

AN ANIMAL REFUGE SENT FROM HEAVEN

Any one that is interested in animal welfare, or adoping a forever friend, needs to visit the Denver Dumb Friends League!! To the person who said they were kept on hold for 10 minutes.....if all you have to offer an animal is 10 minutes of your time, then maybe you shouldn't have an animal!! If you have the spare time to volunteer, concider the Denver Dumb Friends League! Join the fight to save the animals, and educate the public!! I've adopted lots of forever friends from the Dumb Friends League, and found them to be very professional, caring and compassionate. And they can help you with anything you need, concerning animals!!

Blessings from our dog

We adopted a pure bred poodle named Chiquita that was about 3 years old from DDFL on Quebec many years ago, and she lived with us for over 9 years before she died. She was the best and smartest dog!! We loved her so much and she was such a wonderful companion! She changed the lives of our family members and friends and maybe saved a life other than her own in the end.

Hold time is insane!

"Thank you for your patience, your call is very important to us, please continue to hold"Yea, right! I was on hold for 10 minutes before hanging up in frustration. I feel bad for the pets there that cant get adopted because THEY WONT PICK UP THE PHONE!!!!I think I over-rated them with one star.

Bad service, good concept

The shelter itself is a great concept and business. The execution, however, is lacking. Specifically my experience was with an older woman who worked at the cat counter. She was angry and unfriendly. After waiting for 1.5 hours, to see one particular cat, she finally put us into a room to interact with it. After 15 minutes of falling in love with the kitten, she came in and told us that it had been adopted a few days before and was unavailable. This was a very cruel act, and has marred our relationship with the Dumb Friends League.

Thank You for making it possible for me to 1) Save a Beautiful Cat's Life 2) Have a Friend for Lif

It's taken me 6 years for me to say "thank you" to those at the Denver Dumb Friends League, I'll admit I've never taken time to do this, but in cases such as these. it's better late than never. ###I'd like to express my gratitude to DDFL for being there because it's where I met Mr. Trane in March 2002, He's a large Burmese-mix male cat who's now about 7 years old. The only info the shelter had on him is, he was turned in as a stray.###We think he'd been abandoned due to his being socialized w/humans, and knowing how to use a litter box. This notion was confirmed as we were moving in 2003 because he acted certain we were going to leave him behind, and showed much relief when I put his carrier w/him in it, in the car on my final trip.###He's LOADED with personality, and his nutsy antics make us laugh He's also an extremely intelligent and loving creature. Often, when I pet him, he'll looks up at me, w/those beautiful blue eyes, full of love and trust, it reaffirms to me that God must exi

THEY WILL MATCH A PET TO YOU!

I really can't say enough about this place! They spend a lot of time with people to make sure that the pet you adopt is right for you. Some of the pets they don't have a lot of information on so if you have kids or aren't home a lot then take the time to adopt one that they can tell you is good with kids, other dogs, or housetrained. I've adopted 2 pets here and the staff is soooo nice! They even stayed open past closing for me to complete the adoption process! The dog had been on adoption hold and wasn't adopted so I got to visit with her and then had to take her home right away-- and it meant that 4 of them were still helping me to adopt her after they'd closed and they were just happy that she was going to a home!! :) Also, you get a free pet visit with a vet on their list- so it's really an adoption that covers all the needs of the people and the pets! Their pet shop is reasonably priced too. PLEASE adopt your pet here!!!! Ten stars!!!!

easy to work with

These folks are easy to work with and a great purpose. Recommend this avenue over a pet store.
