If you're like me, you're the type of person that thinks "Oh, well a few bad reviews don't mean much, every place has to have them." Oh-ho, how naive. When my boyfriend and I moved in on our scheduled date, the apartment was a wreck, almost as if no one had done a pre-move in check. The counters had not been properly held down, the dishwasher wasn't attached to anything, the stove drawer was broken off, and where the light is in the bedroom there's a large hole surrounded by bulges and forever intriguing colorful ceiling stains. Every wall has cheap plastic molding that was either not attached or is falling off at a rapid speed. The shower tile has sunk in where the handle is and most of the caulking is either already cracked or on its way there. The tub looks used well past its date with forever stains from past use (like the outer protective layer wore off years ago). I'm assuming the buildings are hot water heated therefore you can't control the heat in the winter OR summer (but don't worry you still pay for it!). This hot water management is clearly evident when using the shower because even if you're lucky enough to find a happy medium between scalding hot water and cold water, it doesn't matter because either one of two things will happen....either A) the warm water will turn scalding hot without any notice (often resulting in a quick hop out of the shower to avoid water BURNS until cooler water returns) or B) the loudest growling noise that you can hear many apartments over (I've heard other residents showers create the same noise, that's literally how loud it is) accompanied by a shaking shower head and SHOWER WALL. When this was addressed to maintenance staff, nothing was fixed and we were simply told to "not pull the shower handle all the way out," to therefore not have any water pressure at all in order to maintain a comfortable temperature. Sadly, that's another problem; maintenance. A promised fix time of 2 business days turns into two weeks and easily you're two months out and sending your third or fourth request. I've been very fortunate to not have pest issues, but I constantly see pest removal and bed bug removal trucks in the parking lot. The hallways and laundry rooms were being cleaned weekly but now seems like only once a month. My last and everlasting complaint is for the management. When I confronted the receptionist (who sits in a different Blueline property because our properties club house has been under "renovation" for the past 6 months) about getting money off our rent because it's July and the pool has yet to be opened, I was greeted with a smug "your rent is based on square feet and no amenities are included in the price." Just for the record; within the price you pay for sq. ft, and utilities (water, gas, sewage) which are doubled depending on 2 or more occupants. Fine, whatever. I then expressed the frustration of looking across the street at another Blueline owned property who has a brand new pool open since March and a hot tub in use since February to only get an even more smug reiteration of the "no amenities" reply. But it comes down to this really - I feel like I'm living in a horrid place that I have to take cold showers in, constantly check for pests, never have working things, and then get treated like scum all because I am a college student working two jobs and can't afford to live across the streets with all the "big shots" that Blueline obviously feels compelled to only put their time of day into.
