Overall

If you're like me, you're the type of person that thinks "Oh, well a few bad reviews don't mean much, every place has to have them." Oh-ho, how naive. When my boyfriend and I moved in on our scheduled date, the apartment was a wreck, almost as if no one had done a pre-move in check. The counters had not been properly held down, the dishwasher wasn't attached to anything, the stove drawer was broken off, and where the light is in the bedroom there's a large hole surrounded by bulges and forever intriguing colorful ceiling stains. Every wall has cheap plastic molding that was either not attached or is falling off at a rapid speed. The shower tile has sunk in where the handle is and most of the caulking is either already cracked or on its way there. The tub looks used well past its date with forever stains from past use (like the outer protective layer wore off years ago). I'm assuming the buildings are hot water heated therefore you can't control the heat in the winter OR summer (but don't worry you still pay for it!). This hot water management is clearly evident when using the shower because even if you're lucky enough to find a happy medium between scalding hot water and cold water, it doesn't matter because either one of two things will happen....either A) the warm water will turn scalding hot without any notice (often resulting in a quick hop out of the shower to avoid water BURNS until cooler water returns) or B) the loudest growling noise that you can hear many apartments over (I've heard other residents showers create the same noise, that's literally how loud it is) accompanied by a shaking shower head and SHOWER WALL. When this was addressed to maintenance staff, nothing was fixed and we were simply told to "not pull the shower handle all the way out," to therefore not have any water pressure at all in order to maintain a comfortable temperature. Sadly, that's another problem; maintenance. A promised fix time of 2 business days turns into two weeks and easily you're two months out and sending your third or fourth request. I've been very fortunate to not have pest issues, but I constantly see pest removal and bed bug removal trucks in the parking lot. The hallways and laundry rooms were being cleaned weekly but now seems like only once a month. My last and everlasting complaint is for the management. When I confronted the receptionist (who sits in a different Blueline property because our properties club house has been under "renovation" for the past 6 months) about getting money off our rent because it's July and the pool has yet to be opened, I was greeted with a smug "your rent is based on square feet and no amenities are included in the price." Just for the record; within the price you pay for sq. ft, and utilities (water, gas, sewage) which are doubled depending on 2 or more occupants. Fine, whatever. I then expressed the frustration of looking across the street at another Blueline owned property who has a brand new pool open since March and a hot tub in use since February to only get an even more smug reiteration of the "no amenities" reply. But it comes down to this really - I feel like I'm living in a horrid place that I have to take cold showers in, constantly check for pests, never have working things, and then get treated like scum all because I am a college student working two jobs and can't afford to live across the streets with all the "big shots" that Blueline obviously feels compelled to only put their time of day into.

In 5/12 I came from Las Vegas ...

In 5/12 I came from Las Vegas to rent an apartment in Denver for 8/1/12. I put in a credit app and deposit on a one bedroom from the Cherry Creek Place (a Blue Line Property). I received an email on their website welcoming me to their apartment community for a year lease beginning 8/1/12. I shipped boxes and moved to Boulder in mid July to prepare to take my apt. 8/1. I called Blue Line management while still in Las Vegas and was assured my apt. would be ready 8/1. I then called them again after arrival to my parents tiny dining room on an air mattress and again was assured my apt. with them would be ready but now they said the first week of August. I'm a disabled gay man with a service animal on a section 8 voucher. On 7/25 I went to Cherry Creek Place to have Blue Line Management sign some section 8 paperwork and that is when they told me that the tenants who had turned in a 30 day notice to move changed their minds and that they would not make them leave my apartment so i was not getting an apartment from them. Now I'm all living with my service animal in my parents tiny one bedroom dining room and no where to live because they assured me that apartment was mine the first of August. They were not nice about it either. I would never trust them again to secure an apartment for me as promised and make my moving arrangements from out of town around thaeir promise of an apartment. They also have bad reviews on apartmentratings.com that the Cherry Creek place often has a broken or unrinated in elevator for their 6 floor building, that there are times with no hot water, and they usually don't have working A/C in the summer. Iay have gotten very lucky that they didn't have an apartment for me their. But they put me through a lot of inconvenience and stress promising me an apartment for 8/1/12 they didn't have.

Great Staff, Large Units, Excellent Location and Price

Cherry Creek Place has been a good experience in the short time I've lived here @ Blueline Properties. The staff is fast, efficient, knowledgeable and doesn't waste time responding to needs like broken disposal or window locks, even down to paint and duct covers. More so than efficiency, all staff, regardless of position is always friendly and wiling to help; even if busy. The lobby, halls and laundry room are always clean. The cleaning staff is also friendly and will stop to help, even changing out a quarter from own pocket! The exercise room is equipped with everything you need. As is the business center. There's even a playroom for the kids in case you need them occupied while engaging in any of the above activities. I also appreciate the no smoking policy in my building. Though there are many dogs (I have serious allergies), the grounds are kept clean, the residents are respectful of each other, and I can't even smell/tell they own them. Of course, living with pets, one may hear an occasional bark, but I haven't yet. Living in the middle of Glendale area also has many benefits. Stores, Cherry Creek Mall, gas stations, banks, schools, auto dealers and repairs! close to museum, parks, the highline canal, and university is great too. Its cost efficient as well. Not too expensive. I was surprised! for this great area and services offered. Others may have differing opinions. But we've been here a month (after living in houses for many years I thought it would be a difficult transition) and in the first week, as the unit was still being renovated, they answered everything we requested and even called to verify whether it was taken care of, how, when, and if it was done to our satisfaction. They came by personally with reminders and gave us updates on progress. I believe we're going to like living here even more as time goes on.
