General Info
ARAS is a no-kill cat shelter dedicated to preventing cruelty to animals, and providing a safe shelter and a second chance for homeless cats and kittens. Through outreach programs and community referrals, ARAS seeks to educate the public by providing current information regarding other rescue organizations and services when ARAS is unable to accommodate the animal in need. ARAS is committed to helping animals in need of safe environments and people in need of solutions. Society staff and volunteers care for approximately 165-180 homeless, abandoned, abused, and neglected cats and kittens. In the shelter, felines of all ages -most of which need homes- enjoy cozy nooks and soft beds, lots of toys, warm sunlight, good meals and special attention. In total, we have 14 rooms (4 of which where the cats are not allowed), a large cat-safe outdoor yard for those who wish to spend time outdoors, a small outdoor pen for shy cats and a small outdoor pen for our cats that have tested positive for FIV and FeLV.

DEDICATD TO THEIR VISION
The volunteers of this organiation are always helpful and full of compassiona. I have a ferral cat colony. Often domesticated strays find their way to me, and I need to find a placement for them. They need a place where they will get extra socialization since they have been homeless, and out in the wild. This orgniation always goes out of its way to help me and the deserted cats that come my way.

I have been visiting, adopting and sponsoring cats at ARAS for over a decade, and love the service that they provide. They take good care of the animals in their custody, and always have a warm smile and welcoming attitude. PLEASE E-MAIL peterauricchio@yahoo.com for full story of the 2005 murder of my 10 month old lab by Mary Warren, Englewood Humane Society. I reported it many.....times......however she continued to murder and dump innocent animals in the garbage through 2007, and no one cared...
