We decided to eat a late breakfast before going to a play at the nearby Denver Center Theater. After parking, we stumbled upon the Corner Office. At first we waited at the front of the restaurant for someone to notice us for what seemed like 5 minutes. We could see the a young woman between 2 cash registers and also the bartender at the nearby bar, both of whom did a very good job of ignoring us. When finally a host appeared, he asked us if we wanted to sit at the bar--sort of a silly question, since we would already have been eating if we wanted to sit on a bar stool to do so. By coincidence the young woman between the cash registers who ignored our presence was our waitress. We ordered breakfast, which turned out to be fairly good, although a little pricey for what you get. The service (once it materialized) was fast and efficient and our plates arrived hot. The decor and atmosphere are charming. I liked the high ceilings, in particular. If not for the poor introduction, I'd probably have given this place 5 stars.
Having traveled to Denver several times in the last few years, I found myself yearning to find a great restaurant. I had dined at many good restaurants, but nothing that really stood out. A co-worker recommended the place after finding it in Zagat. I haven't stopped thanking her since. Although the ambiance leaves a little to be desired, the food, wine, and service to accompany both were extraordinary. I felt like I was in a metropolitan restaurant again where everyone involved in my dining experience was truly interested and passionate about their respective roles. To be more specific, take the sommelier's tips and guidance, he was wonderful. The bartender was attentive and friendly and helped me relax while I waited for a girlfriend to join me for dinner. The server was extremely knowledgeable and virtually guided us through the entire menu. The cooks, who are on display via a window to the kitchen, displayed masterpieces on each plate, both visually and flavor wise. In short, simply amazing.
I had a great experience at Juicy Lucy's Friday for Lunch. My wife and I got our signals crossed for a luncheon date with our Priest. That date was actually for Saturday. Our good friend is named Lucy, and I had seen an advertisment in the paper for "Juicy Lucy's Steakhouse". When ever we get together we call her Juicy Lucy. I told her I would take her there someday. Friday gave my wife and I the opportunity to "Check it out" to see first handedly what to expect when we took Lucy there for dinner. Well, what a place!!! We enjoyed wonderful service, the place is very nice and the food we choose was OUTSTANDING. We are definetly returning as often as we can. PLUS, when we were leaving our top notch waiter advised us of the special "5280" dinner. We both experienced immediately the feeling of "God can do for us what we cannot do for ourselves". Parking is free in their lot right next door.
