Very Nice, but Pricey and Lots of Rules!
We are currently staying at CCCR. I was close enough to drive up and check it out before making a reservation. I was a little put off by the fact that you cannot choose what site you want. You can tell them what kind of site (full, electric, etc) but you cannot choose a particular area.
The campground is VERY clean and well maintained. It has a nice pool, tennis courts, a small playground, some shuffel board, etc. The restrooms are nice and very clean as well. Many of the campers that are here are large and stay here permanently as they have stamped patios, decks, etc. However, you can also tell they stay here a lot because it is perfectly clear when you are an ""outsider"". I have had to make people speak to me when passing them on the road while walking. You can get around with an electric golf cars and most people appear to have them.
So far we have been pleased, but there are a few things I am turned off by:
Price: I paid $130 for 3 nights on a full hook-up, back-in site. It's a nice site, but not what they consider one of their premium sites.
Rules, rules, and more rules! They do have LOTS of rules and there are plenty of signs to remind you of them. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult pretty much everywhere. They can ride their bike freely, other than that, you have to be with them.
There is room for one vehicle at your site. Others must park in an overflow lot - no grass parking.
No rugs/mats on the grass. No clotheslines, for sale signs, electric scooters, Power Wheels vehicles, loud remote control toys, etc. That's just all I can remember without referring to the page long rule sheet. The lady at the desk made it clear to point out that the rules are enforced! They do have some kid-friendly events planned for this weekend, but in essence, they really aren't all that kid friendly in my opinion.
In addition, when asking for the code to the internet, they give you a card asking you to ""voluntarily"" pay a $3.00 a day fee and remind you that most hotels charge more than that. I'm pretty sure my $130 for a back-in spot can cover my internet usage. I'm not going to go offer them any additional money.
It's certainly nice but youare definitely going to pay for nice either by the per night charges, the internet charges, or the rules sheet that you'd better keep referring to. I likely won't be back unless one of my other favorite places is full.
