Dekalb County Water and Sewer is hands down the most corrupt organization I've ever had to deal with. Ever. For years, they were billing us for our neighbor's water bill, and billing her for ours. They took several months to iron it out, at our instigation, and then they sent us a back bill for well over a thousand dollars with a cut notice.
Fast forward to two years later, when we've pretty much given up and started paying the back bill (which I still think is their debt to deal with, since it was their error). I was two minutes late at to drop off my payment, and they wouldn't accept an envelope with my check. I stuck it under the door and told the two people there, who were talking to me by about whether they could accept the envelope and how else I could pay my bill, that they should do what they needed to. Never mind that I left work early, or spent ten minutes trying to find their bizarre location amongst one way streets. Why on earth don't they have a mail slot?

In the 5 yrs at my location I have yet to receive a timely bill from Dekalb County water... Every time a notice comes it is a disconnect notice, without any information as to usage. And when they actually have to disconnect service there is a 3day window which is ridiculously dangerous for so many reasons! This is a constant issue with multiple families and businesses in the county and it has to change or I want my tax dollars back!

I must say that the water repair folks did a great job. It did not start that way with the night shift but the day shift came out and fixed the water leak without cutting buried electric lines or gas lines - the crews were numbers 238 lead by Darrell Hardeman and number 169 lead by Willie Dubose - if you can get these guys they seem very conscientious - so I thought I would say something nice about them - the only reason it is not a 5 star is because of night shift - they were really no good but maybe overmatched with the leak I don't know anything about water leaks other than they are a pain in the neck

Our water bill is $428,000.00 and the monthly charge is $20,000.00. Have tried to talk to someone, have gone from office to officer with the run around. Even requested a meeting with the Director. It appears that 11 alive is our only solution. We need help.

Dear,
I received the utility management & billing on November.
I have a one question.
Water was charged 12.22 dollars. Sewer was charges 44.23 dollars.
Are you think there are much that emissions than using the water?
I don't think so. Could you one more check please?
Thank you.

Two workers from the DeKalb county watershed came to our house, ostensibly to turn our water back on. As I greeted them, they smirked, asking me in a derisive tone, “Oh, you want your water back, don’t you? Is that what you want? Well, we’ll give you your water back when we feel like it!”
They burst into a fit of manic laughter, and ran back to their truck, but not before punching my dog on his snout. They peeled out of my driveway, stopping suddenly to scrape a dead squirrel off of the asphalt. “THIS WILL PLEASE THE MASTER!!!” they cried.
I came up with the above story 5 (business) days into our as yet unresolved running water problem. I do not mean to defame the DeKalb County Watershed, simply because they seem to be doing an exemplary job of doing it without my interference.
Seven days ago, our water was shut off. In the process of trying to get this issue resolved has been truly kafka-esque. Phone calls to the water shed end in being hung up on by a robot. And once one can jump that hurdle and talk to a human, we have been strung along about the time frame of getting our water back.
Seven days is ample time for contemplation. I’ve come to the conclusion that allowing citizens to go for even a fraction of this time without running water is absolutely irresponsible, undermines our physical and mental health, and could pose some serious problems for the water shed in the future. As tax payers, what have we done to deserve this?

DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management is by far the most incompetent and rude group of people on the planet. This is the epitome of inept government bureaucracy that has no incentive to serve the customer.

Our normal bill for 2 months usage of water is under $20, however, our latest bill was $844. No representative available by phone, however, after numerous e-mails of complaint, a work order was made to replace the meter and we were to check back in 7 days. Now it is $826. Absolutely impossible for this to be correct and no one is available to talk to you or correct the error.

I was billed $19,000 at one point, their customer service is a joke, and their online platform is terrible. A phone service that has you enter information, answer questions via the number pad, then hangs up on you when there are already other callers ahead of you is a terrible, terrible system.

My service has went from 60 dollars a billing cycle to 230 a billing cycle in less than a year. Ridiculous!!! Then when you call the office trying to discuss the issue they never answer the phone! What are we paying taxes for huh?

They are too stupid to read the decimal place on the new meters. I just renovated a property with no leaks, low flow toilets, etc.. A tenant moved in and used 820 gallons of water last month but I got a $1400+ bill for 82,000 gallons. Next week I will meet a technician and video tape the meeting showing how the meter changes by a gallon when i fill a gallon jug yet their billing bills as 100 gallons. Absolute idiots with zero customer service.
