Downtown Rescue Mission operates the Bargain Center Decatur, which is a store that helps homeless individuals in Alabama. The store offers its proceeds to its parent organization to provide food, clothing, shelter and education to the indigent population. Bargain Center Decatur features a selection of branded apparel, furniture, bedding, appliances, computers, and household and electronic items. Founded in 1975, Downtown Rescue Mission is a nonprofit organization that provides charitable service for the homeless in Alabama. The parent organization's men's ministry offers basic education, job training, and drug and alcohol abuse rehabilitation services. Downtown Rescue Mission also operates a shelter for women and children that provides food, clothing, accommodations, and education and care solutions in short- and long-term basis.
