http://rimart.us/2012/03/review-bj-restaurant-in-daytona-beach/ BJ Restaurant is one of our family’s favorite dining places within the Daytona Beach area. Aside from their wide choices of food and beverages, we like the quick service from the staff and the hip-and-lively ambiance. Be forewarned though, the waiting line can be long, especially during dinner service. But if you are looking for peace-and-quiet, this is not the place for you. The other night, our family decided to eat dinner at BJ. On our way there, we were crossing our fingers, hoping for a shorter waiting period. We got lucky! We instantly got a table. The knight ordered his favorite New Orleans Jambalaya, which is really good. In fact, it was once my favorite, but I had to stop since I started my no-red-meat diet. Instead, I chose their Veggie Burger. The menu book does not really state what kind of patty they used, so I assumed that, it would be just like any other vegetable patty. I was wrong! Assuming is never good. The patty is basically just seasoned rice shaped like a patty. Perhaps, when the restaurant named it “Veggie Burger”, the vegetable part must refer to the lettuce, tomato and onion that come with the burger. Was I disappointed? Heck, yeah! It was all carb! A rice patty in a bun, that’s what it was to me. At the price of about ten bucks, it is not what I expected. But anyway, this does not stop me from dining there though. The other foods are too good to pass. Lesson learned – when in doubt, ask.

My wife and I moved to Daytona Beach in 2003, and it took a few years to find the perfect breakfast place. We don't each out for lunch or dinner much, but on the weekends we like to have a breakfast out. After years of passing Omelet House, we gave it a try in early 2007 and it was amazingly good. First off, there is no restaurant with better service than this one -- the three waitresses are the friendliest in the biz. Dan, the owner, is very cool too. The food is awesome, big portions. I personally love the biscuits and gravy, breakfast sandwiches and chipped beef, but the signature dish to me is the hash brown casserole grilled. Anybody who goes here MUST try this dish. Everything's good. I'm not an egg guy, but everybody who goes there says the omelets are as good as they come -- in fact, we had a low-key bachelor weekend for my brother once, with up to 20 guys in town, and the lot of them insisted on returning there every one of the 3 mornings. So, to sum up -- great food, the service is second to none, prices are about right for the portions. The surrounding area is slightly rundown and the building isn't spectacular, but don't let that scare you away. Once you're inside you'll be glad you came.
We discovered this jewel a number of years ago when our favorite carryout seafood restraunt in the building just a few feet away was closing for good. We now try to limit ourselves to only going every other day while in Daytona. We, like most if not all others that have been to this place go here to get a true N.Y. city style pizza (my wife is a native of new york and i lived on ny style pizza in miami florida). No 2 pizzas look the same and are not made by a machine. Our favorites are the white (cheese w/o any sauce) and the garlic pizza which also has no red sauce on it. For an appetizer try the garlic knots. The best part of the whole experience is the little old lady that runs the place- she makes you feel like she is your mother and you are at home for a sunday meal. This place is a little harder to find unless the sign has been fixed- it was blown over by a hurricane. If you saw the movie "absolute zero" you might remember the sign from the blizzard in daytona scene. When you go, tell Marie that Bill sent you. Dont tell too many of your friends or this little place will become too crowded.
